De volgende SACD-release wordt trouwens "Quadrophenia", hopelijk met een stapel outtakes ("Bank Holiday") of Philadelphia 73. Heerlijk concert. "Sea and Sand" en "Drowned" waren echte live-toppers tijdens die tour.

Ik heb het idee dat álle albums uitgebracht gaan worden als Deluxe Editions. Na "Quad" zal ongetwijfeld "Who By Numbers" volgen. Producer Glyn Johns heeft een hoop tapes in huis, maar The Who leek in eerste instantie niet geïnteresseerd te zijn in die tapes in 1996. Op die tapes staan onder andere de band versie van "Blue Red and Grey", en de John Entwistle demo's "Wild Horses" en "Good Times Coming". Best aardige nummers. Ik denk dat de Deluxe Edition van "Who Are You" zal bestaan uit het Kilburn 77 of Shepperton 78-concert, plus wat demos ("Penny Drop", "Love is Wine"). Even afwachten.

En wat betreft "Lifehouse": Pete solo is altijd minder agressief geweest dan The Who, en hij heeft altijd met een grotere band getourd (o.a. Deep End (1986)).

Oh jazeker, en zeker de versies van "Young Man Blues", "Summertime Blues", "Baby Don't You Do It", "I'm Free", "My Generation" met de "Can't Do It Again"-jam, plus een gitaar-smash. De tweede show in Portsmouth was ietsjes minder, maar die in Watford op de 31e was weer toppie! Ook een fijne boot trouwens. Had John nog geleefd was de 2002 tour een van de beste tours OOIT geweest. Helaas.
