Right away, this film grabs you and doesn't let go. Every character plays their role remakably and memorably. Enough suspense to keep you chewing your nails until they are stubs...and most of all, a realistic and engrossing storyline. You will literally be on the edge of your seat, wondering where the next plot twist will take you.
You can easily see where Quentin Tarantino borrowed ideas from this movie to make Reservoir Dogs...and in my opinion, this film makes Reservior Dogs look like a second rate film. Its truly a shame most people aren't familiar with this movie and it doesn't have the allure or big star power to draw in new fans seeking out a great film to watch

knew this all to well. Perhaps never has a film been so vital or influential in showing us the essence of film as art immitating life. 's movie delves into the infinite possibilities and tries to explain what we all grapple with in the creative process and the hidden dreams and fantasies that exist within our own subconscious.. It is one of the few films that transcends film. For true lovers of the movies who genuinely appreciate film as an art form this movie is infinitely rewarding. Every time I watch it I discover something new. Every time it ends I am left in awe of 's ability to express ideas and feelings that one would think couldn't be expressed on film.There is so much beneath the surface of this movie. It's only more remarkable if you know the background involving it's making. marks a transformation in . But it is not simply 's transformation as a director (from neo-realism to surrealism or " ") but also a transformation as a person. As a man. The transformation spurs from an issue that we all must deal with: the ongoing conflict that results from trying to please ourselves and also please the one's we love. It sounds simple but we all no it's not.
I can't even begin to touch on all the marvels of this film and that is probably a good thing. Discover them for yourselves. Study this movie. I have only seen a handful of films that I would consider perfect and even stands out among them.

Throughout the film you keep wondering whether the director, the main character is either living through the moment or dreaming it. When you want to figure out the motives behind the title, the things the director or the other characters say, you almost need to read through a biography of . And even then it's pure speculation since it's "just a story"...
Beautiful women, magnificent scenes and camera positions, excellent choice of music. And then the plot, full of psychological references to probably the private life of . Cleverly done although it might seem to be a disaster. Not everyone will enjoy it though, it lacks the pace and action of modern Hollywood movies but it's worth a view if you want to see something else than the 'good guy winning some battle and rescuing the girl at the end of the movie'.
