"I always liked this movie, but the more times I see it over the years, the more it grows on me. I can still laugh out loud at some of the more surreal moments, and the political relevancy is still there. I think, whenever I start to get depressed at the current state of politics, I'll have to put this movie back in the DVD player and cheer myself up. The spirit of rebellion is alive and well ! Which I suppose is what the intention of the film was in the first place. A highly enjoyable and highly admirable piece of film making by one of Britain's best : ***. "

"Overall, this movie was fairly good. It was a little slow -- don't expect much to happen for the first hour or so. It might be best viewed on a rainy Sunday afternoon, to accentuate the feeling of being in a boarding school in rural England. There were a few memorable scenes which were rather bizarre and very 1960s (I won't give them away here). Might be good to watch this one along with Pink Floyd's The Wall, or the Australian 'Picture at Hanging Rock'. "

Saw this on cable. Unwatchable. Makes Manos, The Hands of Fate seem like Citizen Kane. Did anyone actually pay to see this?
This is cheap, dumb and ugly, and if you're looking for "cinema", forget about it. But what an amazing piece of subculture ! It goes weird as a 60s teenage psychedelic pulp flick, it embraces girl power style and attitude (Gwen Stefani, how many times have you seen this one ???), it mixes Mad Max and Mel Brooks, Punky Brewster and Spawn... Totally Z and yet unmissable.

Overigens geen dvd in m'n brievenbus Vaag, want ik had 'm tegelijk besteld met een ander, zijn volgens Play.com tegelijk verzonden en die had ik gister al.
Plaatje 1 was natuurlijk A.J. Langer (The people under the stairs, It's like you know, Wonder years, etc).
