"Nothing smells as bad as a wet The Cheat
"
Oh ja, on topic:
Alanis Morissette has revealed that she is to return to
the studio in January to record her first album of new
material since 2004’s
So-Called Chaos.
Mike Elizondo, one of the producers behind
Fiona Apple’s triumphant
Extraordinary Machine, will be manning the controls.
It follows a year of spring cleaning for the artist,
culminating in the release of her first retrospective,
The Collection – “a sorbet cleansing the palate between
entrées” – which charted this week at #44 in the UK
albums chart.
Following completion of the as-yet untitled album,
Morissette plans to turn her hand to more film projects,
building on her previous movie and TV roles in Dogma,
Sex & The City and Curb Your Enthusiasm. “Taking on a
movie role becomes this huge ordeal in terms of the time
required, and it means carving six months out of every
year," she says. “It is just so much easier for me to go
in the studio and write a song, or go on tour. So for
2006 the first half is going to be about writing and
making a new record, and after that 6 months, I will be
ready to go and focus on film in a more committed way.”
