France will make its first announcements regarding the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 towards the end of this year.

Alexandra Redde-Amiel, Head of Delegation for France has spoken about the nation’s plans for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 for the first time. In an interview with L’Eurovision Au Quotidien, the Head of Delegation commented:

“Several questions arise for Eurovision 2025. Expectations are high and the stakes are high. If we want to win, France must be extremely mobilized and our teams focused on the objective. What I can say is that there will not be an announcement as early as last year .”

L’Eurovision Au Quotidien states that an official announcement is expected to come around the end of December or the beginning of January 2025. France Télévisions has not held a televised national selection since the 2022 contest in Turin, Italy, with French press speculating that another internal selection will be used.

Slimane finished 4th for France in the Grand Final of Eurovision 2024 with “Mon Amour” scoring a total of 445 points.
