SBU chief confirms capture of 102 Russian invaders, including officers and Akhmat unit members
During the operation in the Kursk Oblast, Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) special forces captured 102 Russians, including officers and members of the Akhmat unit.
SBU chief Vasyl Malyuk reported that before negotiations with Russia can begin regarding their exchange, the prisoners will first provide testimony and go through the necessary procedures.
During fierce battles in the Kursk Oblast, special forces of the SBU's Center for Special Operations "A" captured 102 Russian military personnel, including members of the Akhmat unit, he said.
"We are already thinking about how to make the most effective use of this to bring our defenders home," Malyuk noted.
He also reported that SBU military counterintelligence and investigators are currently working with the Russian prisoners, in particular, to document war crimes committed by them in Ukraine.
Malyuk said that only after the prisoners provide comprehensive testimony and the Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) and the SBU complete all legally required procedures, will Ukraine be able to conduct negotiations with Russia on their exchange.

Following the incursion of Ukrainian troops into Kursk Oblast, local authorities announced evacuation, particularly to Russian-occupied territories in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
An employee of one of the Crimean recreational facilities told Suspilne Crimea on condition of anonymity that since Aug. 13, local authorities had begun bringing refugees from Kursk Oblast to their city, which was not disclosed by the source for security reasons.
"Yesterday (on Aug. 14), we were told that it is likely that families with children will be vacationing with us (at a recreational facility) from the next shift. The free places will be allocated for them. Now this issue is being resolved," the source said.
Deputy Permanent Representative of Ukraine's President in Crimea, Denys Chystikov, told Suspilne Crimea that the regional branch of the Red Cross in Kerch initiated the resettlement of Kursk Oblast's residents to the territory of the Crimean city.
Thirty-five people had already moved into facilities in Yevpatoriya, Chystikov claimed.

Explosions rang out across multiple cities in occupied Crimea overnight on Aug. 16, the Crimean Wind telegram channel claimed, citing resident reports. A fire was reported near the city of Kerch, in the area of the Kerch ferry crossing.
Residents in Sevastopol, Simferopol, and Kerch heard explosions around 3:30 a.m. local time, according to local media reports.
Multiple explosions were also reported in the community of Chernomorsk in Russia's neighbouring region Krasnodar Krai around 4:30 a.m. local time.

In Maart 2022 kregen we dezelfde waarschuwingen voor het leveren van helmen.
Nu staan "we" op Russisch grondgebied en waarschuwen ze nog steeds voor een wereldoorlog en nuclear inferno.
