Nog een kleine flashback naar een heeeeel lang geleden toen ik in Heerenveen was. Daar vocht toen zo een lokale held Sicco Postma en dat partijtje liep aardig uit de hand. Dat kan wel eens 2000 ofzo geweest zijn. Opa vertelt...

Dat moest ik Googlen. Dat was compleet onbekend voor mij.

My time has come to put the gloves down for good. im so thankful for this sport and every person ive been able to meet along the way.

i started this sport as a 14 yr old kid, i still remember my first day and knowing this is what i wanna spend my life doing. the passion for martial arts and becoming a pro mma fighter gave me hope and a way to a better life! and im so thankful to god for putting that gym toshido mma in kelowna in my path. it truly changed the direction of my life and saved me!

what an adventure this career has been, 17 years of professional fighting. it all came and went so fast! so many painful trainings that are etched into my being, travelling to all parts of the planet and meeting so many people.

ive learned so much about myself through this career, not all of it good . and ive made so many mistakes along the way, but here i am 33 yrs old a better man becuase of those mistakes, to which im very grateful ive grown up lol

i wanna thank all of my fans that have been so supportive, i never got into the sport for fame or any acknowledgement and its been hard adjusting to attention like that but i am truly thankful for your kindess youve shown me!

thank you to all my friends and family that have went out of there way to help me live out my dream of fighting at the highest level of mma, thank you for believing in me, and caring so much, youve been so generous and i love you you all.

thank you to the ufc, bellator, pfl for the opportunity to fight on the world stage
and all the staff of those organizations, youve all be really cool ppl to hangout and work with, sorry you had to put up with me being cranky and needy most of the time we spent together

Several fighters at UFC San Diego gained more than 10 percent of their body weight between official weigh-ins and fight night, the California State Athletic Commission determined. But only one will receive a recommendation to move up.

Tyson Nam gained 16 percent of his body weight in the 24 hours before his fight, competing at 146.2 pounds, or 20.2 pounds heavier than the 126-pound park for his non-title flyweight bout against Ode Osbourne, according to fight-night weights released by the CSAC and obtained by MMA Fighting.

As a result, the commission will request Nam move up a weight class to bantamweight, CSAC Executive Director Andy Foster told MMA Fighting. But the UFC veteran can also continue to compete at flyweight if he can get a doctor to certify he can safely compete in the lower division. Nam earned a “Performance of the Night” bonus for his incredible knockout of Ode Osbourne this past Saturday’s preliminary card at Pechang Arena in San Diego.

Several other UFC San Diego fighters gained in excess of the 10 percent cutoff recommended by the CSAC as a part of a 10-point plan enacted in 2017 to prevent extreme weight-cutting in MMA. Headliners Marlon Vera (12 percent) and Dominick Cruz (14 percent) were among those who exceeded the limit. They will receive letters notifying them of the overage, but will not be ordered to move. Foster said the overall numbers reflected a large improvement from previous events.

In total 8 of 13 fights, or 61 percent, were within the weight gain limits recommended by the California commission.
