CARROLLTON (CBSDFW.COM) – A mayoral candidate in Carrollton has been arrested and charged with voter fraud.
The Denton County Sheriff’s Office has Zul Mirza Mohamed in custody and charged him with 109 felonies related to voter fraud.
The investigation began September 23 when the sheriff’s office was notified by the Denton County Elections Office of possible fraudulent activity related to absentee ballot applications.
Officials say absentee ballots had been requested to be sent to a P.O. Box in Lewisville, that was supposed to belong to a nursing home facility. When investigators made contact with the Carrollton residents whose ballots had been requested they learned that none of the residents had asked for ballots be mailed to the PO Box.
Further investigation revealed the PO Box had been obtained with a fictitious Texas driver license and a fictitious University of North Texas student ID.

To find out who was behind the scheme, officials began a surveillance of the postal facility.
A box of the requested ballots was picked up at the location on October 7. Investigators followed the person, later identified as Mohamed, back to a home in the 1600 block of Bennington Drive in Carrollton and contacted a judge to get a search warrant for the house.
Once inside, deputies found the box containing the requested ballots, with several of them open. The fraudulent driver license used to rent the P.O. Box was also located during the search.
Sheriff Tracy Murphree said, “The fact an actual candidate for public office would engage in these activities is appalling.”
Mohamed, who is currently a candidate for mayor in the city of Carrollton, was arrested and taken to the Denton County Jail. He has been charged with 25 counts of Unlawful Possession of Ballot/Ballot Envelopeo Request of Voter, and 84 counts of Fraudulent Use of Mail Ballot Application.
“The fact that we caught it this time, doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened in elections past. I’m sure it has. Just people are paying more attention. I think election officials are paying more attention. I think they’re keeping a closer eye on it. I personally believe voting by mail is a dangerous thing,” Murphree said.

A U.S. Postal Service mail carrier from Hudson County, New Jersey, was arrested for discarding mail, including 99 general election ballots sent from the County Board of Elections that were intended to be delivered to West Orange residents, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.
Nicholas Beauchene, 26, of Kearny, is charged by complaint with one count of delay, secretion, or detention of mail and one count of obstruction of mail.
The delay of mail charge is punishable by a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The obstruction of mail charge is punishable by a maximum penalty of six months in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Attorney information for the accused was not immediately known.
Beauchene is scheduled to appear Wednesday afternoon in Newark federal court.
According to court documents, roughly 1,875 pieces of mail – including 627 pieces of first class, 873 pieces of standard class, two pieces of certified mail, 99 general election ballots destined for residents in West Orange, and 276 campaign flyers from local candidates for West Orange Town Council and Board of Education – were recovered from dumpsters in North Arlington and West Orange on Oct. 2 and Oct. 5.
The intended destination for the ballots and campaign flyers are heavily Democratic areas.
The mail had been scheduled to be delivered on Sept. 28, Oct. 1, and Oct. 2 to addresses on certain postal routes in Orange and West Orange. On the delivery dates for which mail was recovered, Beauchene was the only mail carrier assigned to deliver mail to the addresses on the recovered mail, according to the court documents.
The recovered mail was placed back into the mail stream for delivery to its intended recipients, according to the prosecutor's office.

Imo de crux van deze issue is dat de Democrats aandringen om op zo'n grote schaal in de meest beladen en polariserende verkiezingen van de afgelopen jaren te stemmen per post. En dit ondanks dat de Verenigde Staten nog nooit op deze schaal zo'n experiment heeft uitgevoerd. Dit idee is zo ongelofelijk onverantwoordelijk.

Nee, weer een gevalletje “old man yells at cloud” en dommerds die het overnemen. Het lijkt er op dat Trump graag wil dat zijn discipelen stem fraude plegen om hem te helpen en hiermee daar het klimaat voor wil scheppen.

Nope geen enkel bewijs dat absentee voting tot grootschalige fraude zou leiden zeggen rechters.
