Nieuwe coach
Dit jaar keert er een vertrouwd gezicht terug als coach bij The Voice Senior. Gerard Joling is de opvolger van Marco Borsato, maar Joling was er in het eerste seizoen ook al bij. Toen nog samen met Gordon, maar nu neemt Joling in zijn eentje een team onder zijn hoede. De andere drie coaches zijn Frans Bauer, Angela Groothuizen en Ilse DeLange.
Talent
De meeste ouderen die zich hebben aangemeld voor The Voice Senior hebben nooit wat met hun zangtalent gedaan; jarenlang hadden ze een 'gewone' baan. Nu ze de zestig zijn gepasseerd besluiten ze alsnog de stoute schoenen aan te trekken, in de hoop dat de coaches draaien er ze er alsnog een zangcarričre aan over kunnen houden. Er doet dit seizoen echter ook een bekend gezicht mee: Imca Marina, die in de jaren zestig en zeventig al enkele hits scoorde.
Het nieuwe seizoen van The Voice Senior is vanaf vrijdag 28 augustus wekelijks om 20.00 uur te zien op RTL 4.

Dit is toch wel de leukste The Voice editie die er is. Pretentieloos zingen omdat het leuk is, niet om een nieuwe carričre op te bouwen. Leuk om oude bekende te zien die ooit in de hitparade hebben gestaan. Feest der herkenning. En over het algemeen goede muziek waar ze mee auditeren, geen 13 in dozijn meuk die je doorgaans in de talentenjachten hoort met dito zang 'kwaliteit'. Ik heb de eerste aflevering net op Videoland bekeken, en pak die van volgende week morgen even mee.
