Als het waar is hebben leden van de delegatie geld ingezet om de odds de beïnvloeden en hebben ze zo geprobeerd Malta als één van de grootste favorieten te bestempelen, terwijl het dus eigenlijk niet zo was. Daardoor hebben misschien wel meer mensen weer geld ingezet op Malta, omdat ze dachten dat die inderdaad favoriet was, terwijl het eigenlijk een soort van oplichting was.
Dat is toch niet echt te vergelijken met elkaar 12 punten blijven geven, want daar kunnen ze gewoon zeggen dat ze het gewoon prachtig vinden en heb je geen poot meer om op te staan. Geld inzetten om odds te beïnvloeden als delegatie zijnde kan je wel bewijzen.
Kijk dat je gaat adverteren is één ding, maar bookmakers beïnvloeden is toch heel wat anders en bij de meeste sporten/evenementen ben je de lul als je betrapt wordt. Zou hier niet anders moeten zijn.

Ik wil dat van Cyprus en Griekenland zeker niet goed praten, maar ik bedenk er altijd wel even bij dat die twee landen een compleet gedeelde muziekindustrie hebben. Qua televoting is het niet zo gek, van de jury verwacht je toch wat meer afstand van zulk soort sympathieën.
Ongeïnteresseerd maar toch aanwezig.

Claims of financial mismanagement dismissed
Back in May, Abela had requested an audit after receiving reports that part of Malta's money was spent on inflating their odds with bookmakers. In addition, it was said that the Malta Tourism Authority had spent around ¤350,000 on promoting Destiny's single "Je Me Casse", way over their initial budget. This was used on social media platforms by uploading content in support of their entry. Another ¤300,000 was spent by the Public Broadcasting Services, roughly totalling at ¤650,000.
Following the investigation, Minister Carmelo Abela said:
"The audit found that both the Malta Tourism Authority and the Public Broadcasting Service worked within their own respective procurement regulations"
The audit found that no money was spent on lowering Malta's betting odds for this year's contest. Furthermore, Abela has declined to make the audit public, insisting that there were restrictions on publishing the full report.
In the end, Destiny helped Malta achieve their best result since 2005. She won her semi final before finishing 7th place in the final with 208 points from the juries and 47 points from the televote.
