For few months there have been rumours of Sergey Lazarev making his Eurovision comeback in 2019. Now Russian newspaper Moskovskij Komsomolets reports that Sergey will represent Russia in Tel Aviv with “super-ballad, something grand and epic”.
Song composed by Philipp Kirkorov and Dimitris Kontopolous?
Philipp Kirkorov and his “dreamteam” have dropping hints on social media over the past months. Just two days ago Sergey posted a picture with Philipp Kirkorov and Eurovision 2008 silver medalist Ani Lorak on their holiday in Florida.
Earlier we saw composer Dimitris Kontopoulos, producer Ilias Kokotos and vocal coach Alex Panayi working together in studio in Moscow. MK reports that the song is indeed composed by Philipp Kirkorov and Dimitris Kontopolous.
According to the newspaper, the lyrics of the song have not been written yet. The recording of the song also involved an entire symphony orchestra. The song is described to be an epic ballad.
Official announcement in the end of January
According to ESCKAZ, Russia’s representative for Eurovision 2019 will be presented in the end of January. The broadcaster VGTRK hasn’t confirmed any of the rumours.
