Het is weer tijd voor een nieuw programma met Bekende Nederlanders. Ditmaal gaan BN’ers de ring in en vechten ze om de titel 'Boxing Star'. Dat is, zoals de titel al doet vermoeden, niet zonder risico. Gevalletje 'met gevaar voor een gebroken neus'. De presentatie is in handen van een nieuw tv-duo: Ruben Nicolai en Olcay Gulsen.
Het programma
Het nieuwe RTL5-programma Boxing Stars is overgewaaid uit België, waar onder andere Josje Huisman een van de deelnemers was die het aandurfde om als amateur een wedstrijd te boksen.
De boxwedstrijden worden live uitgezonden op televisie. De deelnemers worden opgedeeld in drie klassen: vrouwen, mannen lichtgewicht en mannen zwaargewicht.
De kandidaten boksen in rondes van 1,5 minuut in een knock-outsysteem waarbij degene die verliest, direct uit de competitie ligt. Na zeven afleveringen weten we wie de ultieme bokskampioen is per klasse.
De mannen
Er is weer een groot blik BN'ers opengetrokken om het programma te vullen. Bij de mannen lichtgewicht strijden choreograaf Dan Karaty, ex B-Brave zanger Kaj van der Voort, acteur Rein van Duivenboden, e-sporter Koen Weijland en voormalig profwielrenner Michael Boogerd om de titel.
In de zwaargewicht klasse gaan presentator Rick Brandsteder, rapper Brace, zanger Danny Froger en Expeditie Robinson winnaar 2017 Carlos Platier Luna de ring in.
De vrouwen
Bij de vrouwen vechten Michella Kox (sowieso goed tv-materiaal), Amanda (De Gouden Kooi), modellen Jessie Jazz Vuijk en Joelle Witschge (ook bekend van Expeditie Robinson) en YouTubers Masha Feoktistova (BeautyGloss), Laura Ponticorvo en Saar Koningsberger in de ring.

Alle soon to be boksers worden bijgestaan door bekende boksers en trainers, onder wie Don Diego Poeder en EstherSchouten.
Er zullen later nog meer namen worden toegevoegd. In het totaal vechten er namelijk acht bekende vrouwen en zestien bekende mannen in het RTL5-programma.
Vanaf 31 oktober kijk je elke woensdag om 20.30 uur naar Boxing Stars op RTL 5.
