His serious character is the heart and mind of the movie and worth a watch for any Mayall fan, but I won't beat around the bush! One By One is a low-budget indie debut, so it's rough around the edges, but the message is clear - question everything!

Rik Mayall's a childhood hero so I'd watch him in anything, but I'm glad he took me to One By One. It's his last British film and he's not playing the typical 'Rik Mayall role'. His serious character is the heart and mind of the movie and worth a watch for any Mayall fan, but I won't beat around the bush! One By One is a low-budget indie debut, so it's rough around the edges, but the message is clear - question everything!

By the time he is interviewed it is clear he has some kind of dementia, and pieces of his conversation are being cherry picked to back the narrative of his "brainwashing".'

'Right-wing outlets may be exploiting humanity’s ugly side, but Ms. Senko’s frail-looking father (who died in January at 93) isn’t so much the face of the phenomenon as he is a small and not especially representative sample of it.'

Ik heb zo te doen met de familie/geliefden/vrienden die mensen verliezen aan extreem rechts. Het is buitengewoon pijnlijk om te zien hoe mensen gemanipuleerd worden.

Heb je het gevoel dat is iets mis is met het (corona)verhaal dat we voorgeschoteld krijgen maar kan je het niet plaatsen ? Dan is deze documentaire iets voor jouw!
Wat ik goed vind van deze docu, dat het niet heeft over de illuminaties, het occulte, de vrijmetselaars satanistische pedo ringen, de jezuïeten, het Vaticaan ect . Maar de documentaire maker presenteert zijn verhaal op zon manier dat het makkelijk te volgen en de claims die hij maakt zijn vrij gemakkelijk te verifiëren

Ik vind 'true crime' docus heel interessant.
Deze niet echt keihard 'BNW' is, maar wel een zeer indrukwekkende verhaal over onterecht,sensationalistische media, rommelige forensische onderzoek...en heel mooi (van Walter Stokman) gemaakt is.

Putker wordt ervan beschuldigd zijn vrouw tijdens hun zeilreis op de Lazy Duck te hebben vermoord. De Colombiaanse justitie gelooft Peter niet als hij vertelt over een roofmoord door piraten, waarbij hij zelf ook gewond is geraakt. Zij denken dat hij dit verzint of in scène heeft gezet om zichzelf vrij te pleiten. Punt is dat er geen getuigen zijn en Peter de enige is die kan vertellen wat er precies is gebeurd.
Overgeleverd
Het Nederlandse OM neemt de zaak over, maar mocht zijn relaas in twijfel worden getrokken dan is hij geheel afhankelijk van het Colombiaanse onderzoek. Gedurende het verloop van de rechtszaak in Nederland zien we hoe Peter is overgeleverd aan de interpretaties van anderen over wat er die avond heeft plaatsgevonden. Dit rechtbankdrama laat minutieus zien hoe de rechtsstaat in zijn werk gaat in een zaak waarin de bewijslast op verschillende manieren uitgelegd kan worden.
Ik vind 'true crime' docus heel interessant.
