The EU Blockchain Industry Roundtable, which took place on 20 November 2018, is an important step towards creating a European community to support the deployment of blockchain in the European Union. Also interesting that STM went ahead and developed this on their own without even contacting the IF, which means industry is interested and speaks volumes about the project and future adoption.

Op korte termijn volgt IOTA de rest van de meute.

Mogelijk interessante ontwikkelingen op de middellange termijn: meer informatie over lopende projecten in samenwerking met: CityXChange, TMForum en City of Austin. Daarnaast verwachten we in Q3/Q4 meer informatie over de IOTA/Hyperledger bridge (Linux) en de Decentralized ID's. De verwachting is daarnaast dat IOTA in het najaar wordt verhandeld op niet-crypto gerelateerde beurzen.

Ik heb interesse in IOTA vanwege de ontwikkelingen op lange termijn. Er wordt hard gewerkt aan het standaardiseren van het protocol in samenwerking met bijv. OMG. Wat je nu ziet gebeuren is dat het ecosysteem enorm in ontwikkeling is. Grote partijen ontwikkelen PoC's en producten zonder dat de IOTA Foundation hierbij wordt betrokken (bijv. STM microprocessor). De IOTA Foundation zit vuistdiep in allerlei projecten en groepen binnen de Europese Unie en ze zijn actief betrokken bij het ontwikkelen van beleid rondom DLT. Op technisch vlak wordt het protocol ontwikkeld in een iteratief proces, waarbij het protocol met voortschrijdend inzicht wordt doorontwikkeld. Ben erg benieuwd naar coordicide: protocol zonder coördinator.
