I believe the three teams are evenly matched and the opportunity to play against our neighbours more often is something that we’ve been trying to put together for some time now. The matches will be action packed and this will be our first steps in preparation for the 2019 World T20 Qualifiers.”
Grant Bradburn, Scotland head coach added: “It will be great to continue a busy year of cricket on the back of a Dubai tri-series, the World Cup qualifier in Zimbabwe and our own three summer internationals against England and Pakistan. We always have hard-fought games against both Ireland and Netherlands and we are grateful to our Dutch neighbours for hosting this exciting event in this format.”

Nieuwegein, 19 april 2018 – Vandaag heeft de Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (KNCB) aangekondigd dat de captain van het Nederlandse cricketteam Peter Borren zal stoppen met internationaal cricket. Tegelijkertijd is Pieter Seelaar aangesteld als nieuwe captain van het Nederlandse team en Jeroen Smits als teammanager.

Na de WK-kwalificatiewedstrijden in Zimbabwe heeft de KNCB overleg gevoerd over de voorbereiding van het nationale team op het T20 Wereldbeker kwalificatietoernooi (Q4 2019) en het ODI Championship (2020-2022). Als resultaat van dit overleg, zijn de KNCB en Peter Borren samen overeengekomen dat Borren als captain zal aftreden en niet meer beschikbaar is als speler voor het Nederlands Team.

Peter Borren is van onschatbare waarde geweest voor het Nederlandse team en leidde het team de afgelopen negen jaar. In die periode is het Nederlandse team uitgegroeid tot een veel professioneler elftal, resulterend in het winnen van de World Cricket League en de kwalificatie voor het ODI Championship in december 2017. Met zijn inspirerende leiderschap heeft Peter een meer dan belangrijke rol gespeeld in dit succes. De KNCB is hem erg dankbaar en zal een passend moment vinden om hem te bedanken voor zijn fantastische bijdrage aan het cricket, niet alleen als captain, maar ook als speler en ambassadeur van het Nederlandse cricket.

Pieter Seelaar is aangesteld als nieuwe aanvoerder van het Nederlands XI. Sinds 2005 is Seelaar een vast lid van het Nederlandse team en heeft hij zijn capaciteiten op het gebied van leiderschap getoond.

Wat betreft het teammanagement is de KNCB verheugd aan te kondigen dat Jeroen Smits is aangesteld als nieuwe teammanager. Als voormalig aanvoerder van het Nederlandse team en Chairman of Selectors, en met zijn grondige kennis van de internationale cricketwereld, is Jeroen de aangewezen man om deze functie van (interim) manager van Rob Kemming over te nemen.
Vanzelfsprekend is de KNCB zeer dankbaar voor alles wat Kemming heeft gedaan. Kemming is al bijna 20 jaar bij de KNCB betrokken in verschillende functies en hoewel zijn functie als teammanager nu eindigt, zijn we verheugd dat Kemming betrokken zal blijven bij de KNCB-organisatie.

he ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour Driven By Nissan will now extend its stay in Rwanda and Nigeria this month, with the Trophy no longer making stops in Kenya and France.
The Rwanda stop will take place between 8 and 10 February, an extension of two days and will replace the Kenya visit. The Trophy Tour will also stop in Nigeria for an additional day with revised dates of 11-13 February now confirmed.

The Trophy Tour will make its first European stop in Belgium on 15 February, as a result of the Trophy no longer visiting France on 14 February.

The “most connected Trophy Tour ever” will travel to the Netherlands (16 February) and Germany (17-18 February) before heading to England and Wales where it will start the domestic leg on 19 February.

Afghanistan's cricket team claimed a historic first Test win on Monday as they beat Ireland by seven wickets.

Rahmat Shah and Ihsanullah Janat scored fifties for the war-torn country as they chased down 147 for victory on day four in Dehradun, India.

Afghanistan were steered to their target by a 139-run partnership between Shah, who made 76, and debutant Janat, who hit an unbeaten 65.

Shah, a top-order batsman, registered his second fifty of the match after making 98 in Afghanistan's first innings score of 314.

With three needed to win, Afghanistan lost Shah and then Mohammad Nabi in successive deliveries before Hashmatullah Shahidi came to the crease and hit the winning boundary to trigger celebrations in the Afghanistan camp.

Ace spinner Rashid Khan, who is second in the ICC one-day international rankings, had played a key role in the historic win by taking five wickets on Sunday's day three to help dismiss Ireland for 288 in their second innings.

Khan returned career-best figures of five for 82 to stall Ireland's resurgence after Andy Balbirnie and Kevin O'Brien had hit gritty half-centuries.

Balbirnie made 82 and O'Brien 56 before a 10th-wicket 58-run partnership between James Cameron-Dow and Tim Murtagh set up the potentially tricky chase for the Afghans.

Spinner Andy McBrine had opener Mohammad Shahzad caught behind for two in the final session on day three before Janat and Shah played out the last few overs.

The overnight batsmen were tested by the Ireland bowlers early in Monday's morning session with Janat surviving a reprieve on 18.

Stuart Thompson spilled an easy catch at extra cover off George Dockrell and Janat cashed in alongside the in-form Shah.

Paceman Yamin Ahmadzai and spinner Mohammad Nabi took three wickets each on the opening day to bowl out Ireland for 172.

Shah and skipper Asghar Afghan, who made 67 to steer their team to a crucial first-innings lead of 142.

For Ireland Tim Murtagh stood out with scores of 54 not out and 27 batting at number 11.

It was Afghanistan's second Test outing after making their debut last year when they lost to India inside two days in Bangalore. Ireland have also played two five-day games.
