De Wereld Draait Door is een Nederlands televisieprogramma van de VARA op Nederland 1, dat op werkdagen live wordt uitgezonden vanuit studio Zuiveringshal Oost op het Cultuurpark Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. Het programma wordt gepresenteerd door Matthijs van Nieuwkerk en is een mengeling van nieuws, informatie en amusement.
DWDD wordt gepresenteerd door Matthijs van Nieuwkerk. Matthijs (1960) is een allround journalist die eerst een glansrijke carrière had bij de krant en daarna een stormachtige ontwikkeling als televisiepresentator doormaakte. Tot 2001 was hij verbonden aan Het Parool, eerst als interviewer van sporters en schrijvers en later, vanaf 1996, als hoofdredacteur.
