Hey people,
There are still a lot of questions about PITCH and particularly how we will handle the heat.
See below for a faq. As you can see we are fully prepared and equiped for this weekend. We’re looking forward to it! If you have more questions, please shoot!
. Can i bring a waterbottle?
Yes, plastic waterbottles up to 500 ml are allowed. As an exeption, this year you will be able to have bottles with caps with you.
.Are there more water taps available?
Yes, we will install more watertaps where you can get free and clean drinking water.
. Can i bring sunscreen/lotion?
Yes, keep the container reasonable in size, but yes you are advised to bring sunscreen/lotion and use it. Remember, the First Aid has sunscreen aswell if you run out or forget.
. Can i bring waterpistols?
Yes, if you want. We allow small ones, smaller than 25 cm.
.Can i bring little plant sprayers?
Yes, but please make sure there aren’t any sharp edges. Security decides case by case if they let you keep an item like this, though. If they think it is unsafe, they won’t let you keep it. Hope you understand.
.Can i bring one of those little handfans?
Yes, but please make sure there aren’t any sharp edges. Security decides case by case if they let you keep an item like this, though. If they think it is unsafe, they won’t let you keep it. Hope you understand.
. How will you regulate the temperature in the different venues?
We will cool every venue as much as possible using airconditioning, fans and watersupply. At the gashouder, we will even turn on the airco one day in advance to cool it.
.Will you install sprinklers?
Sprinklers are actually not very safe. It will get you sunburned easier and the hot/cold differences are unsafe (also for you belongings). It will also raise the humidity and that’s not very pleasurable.
However, we will install a couple watermist devices, waterfans if you will, at the festival site. That will also help keep you all as comfortable as possible.
.Is there a pool at PITCH?
No, there is no spot at PITCH where you can swim.
. What can I do to keep myself cool and safe?
-Use a sufficient amount of sunscreen
-Cover your head and neck as much as you can, for example with a cap, scarf or piece of cloth.
-Don’t forget to eat and drink
-Make good use of the shade
-Don’t drink too much alcohol
Make sure to drink a sufficient amount of water to avoid dehydration! Dehydration can lead to serious health problems, including cramps, nausea, exhaustion and unconsciousness. But don’t drink too much! This may sound contradicting, but 1 or 2 glasses water an hour is enough. Drinking too much water may cause water intoxication and that is just as dangerous as overheating as a result from alohol- or druguse.
High temperates can lead to exhaustion, dizziness and headaches. The combination of dehydration and overheating can lead to a sunstroke. Inform security or medical staff when you feel dizzy or extremely dull.
The predicted high temperatures may cause storms and rain. We will notify you, when necessary, using video screens and/or announcers. Please make sure to follow all instructions carefully. In addition, make sure you are prepared for cool evenings after the storms have passed. Dress accordingly!
