It’s Paula and Ovi on the cheap!! – Instead of having pianos and fire they have…. guitars and no seats!! – Again, recession bites in Netherlands, The and their staging is…. simple…..
…. and yet scarily effective. They have done a decent job on the whole Americana thing, not so it is in your face, but just enough that it gives you a smile on your face. All they do is literally stand opposite each other and sing the song ( With a double ended microphone MATRON) – and that, it can be argued, is ultimately all you need to do. No overblown choreography, No Pyro, nothing like that, It’s a simple song which, when done and said all, is not that bad, sung well *at* each other and not at the audience.
Simple is often what is needed in this contest. Portugal and Moldova and San Marino are the madness, this is – quite literally as it turns out – the calm after the storm!! ( See what I did there?).

Maar ik lees overal dat de vloerprojectie geweldig moet zijn, dus ik denk dat je echt de combinatie van die twee moet zien.quote:

Back from lunch, with the Common Linnets. Ilse and Waylon share a 'common' microphone stand, which splits into two, providing a microphone for each of the performers. The duo are joined on-stage by a cellist, a drummer and a guitar-player. Cameras linger above the pair at the beginning of the rehearsal, as a lighting effect recreates a moving road between the two. Focus then moves very much onto the singers, who appear to look very 'intense' - there is a lot of straight-to-camera staring and at eachother! The backdrop is again very dark and moody, as is the LED floor - something of a surprise for this kind of song. There are no sweeping stage-shots at all - it's all very much about what is happening on-stage. These two very consummate performers are clearly comfortable on-stage however.
