Music ownership is a difficult question in 2013.
When you purchase music from the Itunes store, you partly own the music, as you cannot share your music like a CD or Vinyl. Streaming services on the other hand promise no ownership at all, but give you access to a large online catalogue of music (in the cloud). An album from ITunes cost approximately 8 euros. Spotify charges you 9.99 a month for full access to their music database.
Will the Itunes music store (where you ‘own’ music) be able to compete with streaming services like Spotify (where you ‘borrow’ music) in the future?
Please express your thoughts.
