"True Blood" Season 7 is on the way!
HBO renewed the vampire series for another season of sex, blood-sucking, humor and tons of suspense, set to debut in the summer of 2014.
"True Blood," which is currently half-way through its sixth season, is exceeding 10 million viewers per episode, according to HBO. The show underwent a few changes before Season 6 with creator Alan Ball stepping down as showrunner and executive producer Brian Buckner taking his place.
"Everybody loves the show, but actors don't want to play the same scenes anymore, and writers don't want to write the same scenes anymore, and so [we're] literally shifting things up," Buckner told Rolling Stone before "True Blood's" Season 6 premiere in June. "If we can shift the paradigm, and some of the relationships within the show, there are all these sort of new avenues to go down ... So that's the kind of thing that we have to be aware of and get back to a little bit of our soap opera roots and remember that romance matters in the midst of all the plot we do."
Buckner will return as showrunner for Season 7 of "True Blood." No word yet on the fate of the show's long list of stars, including Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Carrie Preston, Alexander Skarsgård, Anna Camp, Deborah Ann Woll, Kristin Bauer van Straten and Joe Manganiello.
"'True Blood' remains a signature show for HBO, and a true phenomenon with our viewers," Michael Lombardo, HBO's president of programming, said in a statement. "Thanks to Brian Buckner and his talented team, the show continues to be a thrill ride like nothing else on TV."
"True Blood" Season 7 will debut in the summer of 2014.

“Ray Donovan is on track to be our biggest season 1 show ever,” said David Nevins, president of entertainment for Showtime Networks, in a release. “Ann Biderman and the extraordinarily talented creative team, coupled with the brilliant ensemble cast led by Liev Schreiber, have produced one of the hottest new dramas of the year. The Glee Project has been canceled, EW has confirmed.
The Oxygen reality show, which had contestants competing for a role on Fox’s Glee, will not return for a third season. A source close to the show told EW the decision was made several weeks ago and that it has nothing to do with the death of Glee star Cory Monteith.
“The Glee Project will not be returning to Oxygen, but we are extremely proud of this series which launched the careers of several talented individuals. The show had so much heart and we thank Ryan Murphy and all of the creative talent who helped make the series a critical darling,” a network rep said in a statement.
Last season’s winner, Blake Jenner, originally won a seven-episode arc on Glee‘s fourth season, but actually wound up appearing in many more episodes and was recently promoted to a series regular for season 5. Glee actors Alex Newell, Samuel Larsen and Damian McGinty all also got their start on the reality show.
