Lucas Andersen has just been moved permanently into Ajax's first team squad, but he dreams anyway already large. It has been going strong for the past AaB'er who came to the summer and started on the bench Jong Ajax. Now Andersen has only just half a season in which he will play himself into the squad at the 18 that come with the fighting. He was not selected for Sunday's match against Feyenoord, but it goes the right way, and the goal for the spring is crystal clear.

- I need to move my game to a higher level, develop myself and put on my development. I do, come play time too. I've already added to my experience as a first team player in Aalborg, and I have come a long way the first half. - It has been hard being away from Denmark, but it has actually been much easier and nicer to live in another country than I had expected. And then Amsterdam is probably not the worst city to get to, when you get as a young man from Denmark. The culture and mentality are quite similar at home, and then I have my Danish teammates that I can lean up of. But it is not that we are a clique on the team, I think we are really good at finding a balance in it. So I am also integrated with the others on the team, and it starts fortunately also go better with the language.

In early January, he and his teammates on the workout to Brazil, where the weather was good, and the conditions for training was optimal. Here came Andersen even closer to the first team players, he had learned so well to know yet.

- It was a good chance for me to get a little more into the lives of some of the players, I have not talked so much with yet. So it was really cool to be with. Lucas Andersen is in distinguished company on training courses, and he draws to himself when the old bigwigs play with.

Lucas Andersen changed in the summer teenage life in Aalborg out with the full time professional life in Amsterdam at one of history's greatest clubs, Ajax Amsterdam. It was in many ways a big culture shock for the young Dane, but he learns a day of training with some of Europe's best, including the old Ajax boys director Marc Overmars, coach Dennis Bergkamp and head coach Frank de Boer, who sometimes participates in training.

- It's great to train with them when they sometimes participate in the training. Although they are older, they are still so crazy good, and you can still learn so much from them on the pitch, says Lucas Andersen to DBU Web TV.

Also the Danish unity in the squad has made a big impression on the squad's youngest with a Danish passport. But even when the task is cooking, athletes compete for the honor as the best.

- I live close to Eriksen, so some may well be that I'm up at him, and we will see some television together or eat some food together. I think I'm one of those who are best to cook. Poulsen goes too much into it. Boilesen is somewhat healthy, but I have been praised by the other for my cooking skills. I have not seen Viktor cook. - For example, when we play range game, one is often outside. So it's about looking at how the other players do. It can provide inspiration for what you can improve. In this way, you can get multiple angles into his own game.

In december Andersen got his debut in the Eredivisie. It has so far only been one game, but shortly after his debut, he moved permanently into the A-squad.

'Misschien niet als basisspeler, maar vanaf de bank. En misschien is het dan volgend seizoen al zover dat ik er vast bij kom en een paar basisplaatsen mee kan pakken', aldus Andersen.

Lucas Andersen speelde al veertig wedstrijden voor Aalborg BK in de Deense eredivisie, toch heeft hij het in zijn eerste jaar bij Ajax niet makkelijk. De jongeling speelt zijn wedstrijden vooral in Jong Ajax. Jong Ajax-trainer Gery Vink ziet het talent zoeken naar zijn positie binnen het team.

"Lucas speelt een beetje tegen zichzelf. Dat is wel even goed, daar moet een speler soms doorheen", aldus Vink in Ajax Life. "We kijken welke positie hem het beste past, vleugelaanvaller of aanvallende middenvelder."

Ondanks het leerproces dat Andersen ondergaat, spreekt Vink wel lovend over de pas achttienjarige Deen. "Je ziet aan alles dat hij een goede voetballer is. Geef hem de tijd om te acclimatiseren, alles is nieuw. We omschrijven Lucas vaak als een kunstenaar. Zijn balbehandeling is als een artistieke vorm."

Andersen zelf, die dit seizoen zijn debuut in het eerste team maakte thuis tegen FC Groningen (2-0), richt zich vooral op volgend seizoen. "Ik hoef me geen zorgen te maken, zeggen de trainers. Het zou mooi zijn als ik dit seizoen een kans krijg, maar na de zomer wil ik er echt staan."

'Vertrek Eriksen zou geweldige kans zijn'

Lucas Andersen kende niet het succesvolle jaar dat zijn Deense leeftijdsgenoot en goede vriend Viktor Fischer wel beleefde bij Ajax. Waar Fischer veel speelminuten maakte en beslissend kon zijn, speelde Andersen slechts 12 minuten mee dit seizoen en zijn 'hoogtepunt' was een bal op de paal. 'Voor mijn ontwikkeling is het belangrijk dat ik volgend seizoen in het eerste speel', zegt Andersen in een publieke chat op TV2.

'Ik wil zoveel mogelijk bereiken in mijn carrière, uiteindelijk in een grote competitie. Op dit moment is het echter belangrijk dat ik mijn niveau laat zien bij Ajax. Dan word je uiteindelijk ook interessant voor het nationale team', geeft Andersen zijn ambities aan. 'Na AaB was het mijn droom om voor Ajax te spelen, deze club biedt jonge spelers veel mogelijkheden voor speeltijd. Mijn ultieme droom is spelen voor Real Madrid.'

Het hedendaagse voorbeeld van Andersen speelt momenteel bij Real Madrid, Mesut Özil. 'Hij is een elegante speler, heeft goed oog voor het spel en oog voor zijn medespelers. In die zin is hij een voorbeeld voor mij. Vroeger was ik altijd fan van Laudrup.'

De grootste concurrent van Andersen bij Ajax is volgens hem zijn goede vriend Fischer. 'Mijn grootste concurrent is waarschijnlijk Viktor Fischer. Het zou echter ook gaaf zijn samen met Viktor in één team te spelen. Wellicht komen er door een aantal transfers deze zomer plekken vrij in het eerste. Een transfer van bijvoorbeeld Christian Eriksen zou een geweldige kans voor mij zijn. Persoonlijk zou ik het erg jammer vinden, ik kan het goed vinden met Eriksen en we wonen zelfs naast elkaar.'

Andersen geeft aan zich bij Ajax al wel ontwikkeld te hebben. 'Mijn snelheid is verbeterd. Ook mijn eerste aanname is beter geworden. Dat zijn aspecten waar we bij Ajax veel tijd aan besteden. Het is fijn om op te merken dat iemand mijn ontwikkeling ziet', gaat Andersen in op een vraag van een bezoeker van de publieke chat. 'Ik voel dat ik er klaar voor ben om volgend seizoen meer te spelen in het eerste, ik ontwikkel mijzelf positief', sluit Andersen af.

Lucas Andersen beleefde geen succesvol debuutseizoen bij Ajax. Kenneth Pérez vindt dat zijn jonge landgenoot over genoeg kwaliteiten beschikt, maar het zelf moet laten zien.

De middenvelder stapte van de Deense competitie over naar de Nederlandse beloftencompetitie. "Misschien is het moeilijk om je terug te vechten als je gewend bent om veel te spelen in de Superligaen", vraagt Pérez zich hardop af in gesprek met TV2.

Viktor Fischer brak al wel door in de Eredivisie, waar Andersen die stap niet wist te maken. Toch zijn ze in Amsterdam wel overtuigd van de kwaliteiten van de jongeling. "Frank de Boer ziet zijn kwaliteiten, maar het is aan hem. Of je nu te maken hebt met concurrentie of niet: je moet bewijzen dat je goed genoeg bent."

Wellicht dat Andersen volgend seizoen gaat vlammen in de A-selectie. "De laatste keer dat ik Lucas sprak, vertelde hij dat hij zich meer thuis voelt. Hij zei dat hij klaar is om zijn potentieel te tonen", aldus Pérez.

Andersen: 'Was een relatieve nobody'

Lucas Andersen rammelt aan de poorten van de eerste selectie. De Deen maakte in de Johan Cruijff Schaal tegen een AZ een prima indruk en zit ook zondag tegen Feyenoord weer bij de selectie. 1900 sprak met hem over zijn onzekerheid en de geruststelling van zijn landgenoten.

Andersen groeide op in Aalborg en voetbalde daar al als klein jongetje dagelijks met mensen uit de buurt. Sommigen tien jaar ouder, Andersen raakte eraan gewend. Het was niet verwonderlijk dat hij bij Aalborg BK terecht kwam. Bij de Deense club ontwikkelde hij zich en debuteerde hij als 16-jarige in de hoofdmacht. Volgens hemzelf een gevolg van talent en economische crisis in het land. 'Er is simpelweg geen geld meer om dure spelers aan te trekken. De laatste jaren wordt daarom heel veel tijd en energie gestoken in de ontwikkeling van jonge talenten.'

Aalborg leeft van het verkopen van die talenten, zo ook bij Andersen. Andersen had plezier bij Aalborg, maar wisselde goede en slechte wedstrijden met elkaar af. Toch kwam Ajax langs. Op de laatste dag van de transfermarkt ging de Deen in op een aanbieding, een stap die hijzelf vrij logisch vond. Op zijn dertiende repte hij tijdens een internationaal toernooi al over Ajax. 'Toen dat vijf jaar later echt aan de orde was, voelde het als een logische, vloeiende stap. Bijna alsof het voorbestemd was. Deze club heft door de jaren heen - en zeker ook de laatste jaren - een heel goede naam opgebouwd in Denemarken. Wij Denen aarden hier goed en blijken ook nog eens heel succesvol te zijn.'

Andersen geeft, zoals hij al in eerdere interviews zei, aan dat hij het moeilijk had om Denemarken te verlaten. Hij voelde zich vaak alleen en trok vooral op met zijn maatje Viktor Fischer. In de winterstop zocht hij zijn familie op en verhuisde zijn vriendin naar Amsterdam. Hét omslagpunt voor Andersen. 'Daarna heb ik voor mijn gevoel een nieuwe start gemaakt. We vonden al heel snel een leuk appartement, we kochten een autootje, noem maar op. Ik kreeg ook eindelijk oog voor al het moois dat Amsterdam te bieden heeft.'

De laatste stap is speeltijd en een basisplaats bij Ajax 1. 'Het was voor mij even wennen om tamelijk anoniem mijn wedstrijdjes te spelen. Bij Aalborg was ik in vrij korte tijd uitgegroeid tot een beeldbepalende speler. Als je hier dan plotseling terug gaat naar de status van relatieve nobody, dan kun je daar best onzeker van worden.' Uiteindelijk gaven zijn landgenoten bij Ajax advies en geruststelling dat dat gevoel normaal is. 'Dat was een opluchting: ik besefte dat het niet aan mij lag, dat ik geduld moet hebben en dat het dan wel goed gaat komen.'
