Die trein klinkt heel leuk, maar je moet ook nog eens overstappen op brussel, waarbij je door net zoveel controle als op schiphol moet gaan. Dan wil ik het nog niet eens hebben over de slechte mogelijkheden om je bagage mee te nemem. Die rekken aan het begin van de coupe's zitten propvol.
Ja en als je dan selectief naar een aankomsttijden gaat zoeken dat er net geen vleigtuigen vanuit NL aankomen op LCY dan kun je wel winnen want dat was toch de bedoeling voor de verkapte marketing.
14 vluchten per dag van Amsterdam naar City tov. 19 naar Heathrow, dat is inderdaad een enorm verschil. Plus dat je ook Eindhoven - City (2 per dag) kunt pakken.quote:

1) Waarom zijn jullie voor een Amsterdam - Londen vlucht ingestapt op het platform bij de KLM hangaars, in een KLM Boeing 777/Airbus A330? Deze vliegen namelijk niet op de route naar Londen.
Ik ben geen fotograaf dat zijn stockfoto's uit de database van de aankomst van de eerste Boeing 777.

2) Het instappen bij de hangaar, waarom de lounge op Schiphol Centrum gebruikt en vervolgens weer door de douane heen Schiphol Plaza verlaten om met de bus naar Oost te gaan (20 minuten) daar weer door de beveiliging heen en daar instappen. Kostbare tijd.
Verder complimenten voor de lege foto's van de lounges, goed om te zien dat jullie de enigen in de lounge waren!
Waren stockfoto's mochten zelfs niet met de Iphone fotograferen in de lounge

Ik begrijp ook niet wat NS met deze thread te maken heeft. Ik heb gewoon het verhaal laten zien wat wij hebben meegemaakt. Ik weet ook niets van een link in het verhaal en hoe dat werkt. Ik baalde er alleen van dat ik de weddenschap had verloren. Maar door een verhaal te posten krijg ik alle shit ineens over mij heen. Ik weet ook niet hoe ik de tekst moet plakken en kopiëren maar nu is het verhaal geen verhaal meer. De mensen die nu deze thread zien weten niet waar het overgaat. Nu wordt het weer gezien als spam door de NS. Het moet niet gekker worden. Ik werk niet bij de NS of KLM. Ik ben niet eens voor de trein, want ik vlieg liever daarom ben ik de weddenschap aangegaan. 1:00 vliegen naar LHR zelfs
0:30 uit LHR komen naar tube station
1:00 met de tube naar Westminster
= 5 uur en dan vlieg je AMS-LHR en niet eens RTM-LCY waarbij je nog minstens een uur mag aftrekken.
Zelfs al vlieg je naar STN of LTN ben je sneller over. Als je vertraagd bent met het vliegtuig krijg je zelfs van de EU regulatie geld.

What about catching the train ?
Europe has an extensive network of railroads and it is a great option for the Business Traveller for traveling around the continent.
Especially for shorter trips than 1,000 km it must be a great way to use the train we would say.
Group A will use the train starting with the NS Intercity from Tilburg Reeshof to London St Pancras with the Eurostar and the Subway to Westminister.
Group B will use the plane starting with the NS Train from Tilburg Reeshof to Amsterdam Schiphol and a flight with KLM to London Heathrow and the Subway to London Westminster.
Group A:
At 11.22 they boarded the sprinter from Tilburg Reeshof to Breda arriving at 11.35
After a few minutes the Intercity from Breda to Roosendaal arrived and departed at 11.52 arriving 19 minutes later in Roosendaal.
Than they had to wait for 23 minutes to get the connecting Intercity to Brussels Midi where the Eurostar will start for the High-speed ride to London.
They arrived at 13.42 at Brussels Midi and that is time enough to get the connecting Eurostar to London St Pancras.
In the mean time they used the Eurostar Business Lounge to relax and have a drink and use the Free WiFi Internet.
At 14.52 the Eurostar Highspeed Train left Brussels Midi and arriving at exactly 16.03 ( UK Time ) at St Pancras International Trainstation.
During the travel to London there was enough room to work on your Laptop and enjoy the free meal and drinks.
A short walk of 10 minutes to King Cross Subway station and they where ready for there trip with the Tube to Westminster Subway Station arriving there 22 minutes later.
They already saw the Big Ben and walked in 3 minutes to the meeting point.
Total travel time 6 hours and 16 minutes. arriving at 16.38 UK Time
The team found there travel trip very relaxing, no stress, no long waiting lines at security area’s and not getting in the air sitting in cramped seats a positive way of travel.

The flight was also delayed by 23 minutes so at 16.23 they left the gate.
The normal flying time to London Heathrow is 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Due to a lot of traffic at London Heathrow, they landed at 17.03 (UK Time) on the Runway.
London Heathrow is a huge airport and the travel time to pass security and find your way to the London Tube, took them 1 hour and 22 minutes.
They arrived at 18,25 UK time at the Heathrow London Tube station to get the underground to Westminster.
At 18.33 they found there way to Westminster arriving 40 minutes later at Westminster and ended up with a 3 minutes walk to the meeting point.
Total travel time 8 hours and 12 minutes. arriving at 19.17 UK Time.
The team found there travel trip very stress full, especially the long time it took to get from the airplane to the London Tube.
Heathrow is too big and you have to walk a long distance before you have left the airport.
There was also a long line at the security area at Schiphol Airport and they had to remove belts and shoes.
Who is the winner for us the Train or the Plane ?
The train is 1 hour and 56 minutes faster than the airplane, to get to the Big Ben in London.
The return ticket price for Standard Premier ( Business Class ) was ¤ 214,00.
For the Business Class flight with KLM, it was ¤ 441,53.
And most imported the train trip was more relaxing as the flight with the plane.
So the winner is the Train for the destination London

Ik ga ze nog een keer terug pakken en zorgen dat het vliegtuig sneller is. Het is een moment opname en ja als de trein uitvalt heb je een probleem en wint het vliegtuig.
Vertraging niet meetellen (dat kan bij beide gebeuren) en vraag op Fok! hoe je het beste kan reizen. Ik heb schema's van 1.45 tot 5 uur gegeven. De 1.45 is idd iets duurder en gaat alleen zo ver als Rotterdam.quote:

Ja dan heb je 30 tot 60 minuten voorsprong maar dat gun ik de machinist niet is al erg genoeg als er een springt. Heb altijd een hekel aan dat soort mensen, de machinist loopt zijn leven lang rond met het beeld
De keren dat ik opgehouden werd door zo'n incident loopt de vertraging toch vaak wel naar de 2 uur toe.quote:

Ja ik neem niet zo vaak de trein alleen als ik op Utrecht centraal moet zijn en daar loopt het ook wel eens vast. Maar zie altijd bij storing hou rekening met 30 tot 60 minuten extra reistijd
Gezien de optimistische voorspellingen van de NS en de praktijkervaring komt er nogal een verschil uit.quote:

Als de NS meteen zouden inzien dat de storing meer dan 2 uur gaat duren moeten ze namelijk volgens mij verplicht bussen gaan regelen, maar als je oppertuun bent (zoals de NS is) dan probeer je het moment van busvervoer regelen zo lang mogelijk te rekken totdat de treinen wel weer rijden.
Ga naar KLM.nl en boek je vlucht. Dan ga met de trein naar Schiphol met een uur voor inchecken. In London koop een tube kaartje in de automaat. Je hebt het al eens eerder gedaan dus ik begrijp niet hoe dat langer dan 6 uur gaat duren.. Winnen van de trein is bijzonder makkelijk.quote:
