That's exactly what it is. We basically want to put all the energy into the music and concepts, and that's more fun that just focusing on the artist or record label. We have concepts that you can actually think about and there might be a mystery there, or it might not be a mystery. It just might be fun to get into the concept and it makes you think a little deeper about things in your own life. To me, it makes the music exciting. Without it, it would be very dull. It would be faceless and nameless, and it's here today and gone tomorrow. We try and make it a little more interesting so if it's going to be around a long time and if you come back twenty-years down the line and play it for somebody else, you can tell a story behind the music. It has a reason to exist, a purpose. It lives, it breathes, you can smell it, and you can taste it. It's not like fast-food, this is a home cooked meal, a full-course. This is very, very important to us. And that's why sometimes we back away from things and take time, and we might be away for a year or so.

U.R. heeft zo ongeveer hetzelfde gedachtengoed, en daar ben ik al jaren fan van, sinds het begin van de jaren '90.
Ik zit nu naar Harnessed the storm te luisteren, en hij is weer lekker

Hier staan maar een paar Drexciya trax op (wel veel andere goede Detroit artiesten), die al bekend zijn van 12"es op het Underground Resistance label. Op een van die verzamelaars (electro georienteerd) staan wel een aantal trax die nergens anders te vinden zijn, met name "Wavejumper" roeleert.Drexciya - Harnessed the storm

Die geheimzinnige sfeer komt IMHO wel degelijk terug in de trax ondanks de "simpelheid", "Depressurization" van hun 1e 12" vind ik bijvoorbeeld perfect voor bij een diepzee documentaire (=> diepzee techno 
).
In't algemeen vind ik simpelheid of complexiteit geen argument om iets wel/niet goed te vinden, het eindresultaat of netto effect telt.

Drexicya staat bij mij voor de beste electro die ik ooit heb gehoord. Electro van een zeer hoog niveau en een ongekende schoonheid. Niet alleen onder hun eigen naam maar tevens onder een breed scala aan pseudoniemen zoals Lab Rat XL, Shifted Phases, Dopplereffekt (hoewel dat niet helemaal zeker), Arpanet, Ectomorph en Japanese Telecom.

Ik heb veel electro in mijn leven gehoord maar de mannen achter het geheimzinnige Drexciya-collectie steken met kop en schouders boven alle electro-producties uit. Gezien de melodische diepgang ook geschikt als introductie tot de electro .
