It’s called “Pond Life” and the first part will be premiering online Monday 27th August at 12pm.

Featuring the Doctor, Amy and Rory, this five-part mini-adventure premieres on [the official] site at noon on Monday with parts 2-5 stripped daily across the week. Written by Chris Chibnall and directed by Saul Metzstein, the omnibus version of Pond Life will be shown on the BBC’s Red Button on Saturday, 1st September.

En toch vind ik het raar en vervelend. Amerikaanse netwerken geven hun premičredatums maaaaanden van tevoren vrij; als het seizoen in mei eindigt weet je soms al tot op de dag precies wanneer het volgende seizoen begint. En Doctor Who blijft altijd raden tot ongeveer twee weken van tevoren.

valt me op dat in de amerikaanse trailer erg de nadruk word gelegd op een "waters of mars" doctor. Een doctor die tever lijkt te gaan

De eerste 4 seizoenen zijn op spotgoedkope betabandjes opgenomen, die waren wel breedbeeld maar niet in HD. In tegenstelling tot film kan je ze ook niet upscalen. Er is 1 zo'n oude aflevering op Blu-ray verschenen. De kwaliteit daarvan is net iets hoger dan wat je op dvd mag verwachten omdat de bitrate hoger ligt. Het blijft echter overduidelijk SD materiaal.quote:

De eerste HD-aflevering was Planet of the Dead. Daarom is de box met de S4-specials, dus de laatste afleveringen met Tennant, de eerste die op blu-ray is verschenen.

Klopt en de laatste SD aflevering was The Next Doctor en die moest wel in de Specials blu-ray box omdat hij niet in de Series 4 box zat.quote:
