Japan heeft videobeelden naar buiten gebracht die gemaakt zijn in het commandocentrum van de kerncentrale in Fukushima tijdens en vlak na de ramp op 11 maart 2011.
Uit het beeldmateriaal blijkt dat er slecht gecommuniceerd werd tussen de kerncentrale en de overheid. Ook blijkt dat sommige medewerkers niet op de hoogte waren van de noodprocedures en dat de buitenwereld pas laat ge飊formeerd werd over het weglekkende radioactieve materiaal.
Niet uitvoerbaar
Op de beelden is te zien hoe de toenmalige directeur van de centrale, Masao Yoshida, klaagt over de slechte bereikbaarheid van de premier en gefrustreerd is over de bemoeienis van nucleaire veiligheidsambtenaren. Die geven volgens hem adviezen die helemaal niet uitvoerbaar zijn in Fukushima.
Na de meltdown van reactor 2, op 14 maart 2011, vergeet beheerder Tepco de buitenwereld hierover in te lichten. Ook komt het bedrijf niet met de gegevens naar buiten die nodig zijn om een evacuatie in gang te zetten.
Evacuatieprocedures
Maar ook binnen het bedrijf zelf loopt het niet op rolletjes. Als de medewerkers instructies krijgen zich voor te bereiden op een evacuatie, zegt een van de leidinggevenden dat hij de evacuatieprocedures niet kent. "Sorry, dat zit gewoon niet in mijn hoofd."
Op 15 maart staat het commandocentrum bij de kerncentrale te schudden op zijn grondvesten door een explosie in reactor 3. "Dit is ernstig, dit is ernstig", schreeuwt directeur Yoshida in de telefoon. "Ik kan niks zien hier, vanwege de rook."
Terwijl de aanwezigen in de centrale nog geen idee hebben van wat er precies is gebeurd, blijkt de explosie al te zijn uitgezonden op het televisienieuws.

Uit de opnamen blijkt verder dat er geknoeid is met de duur van de blootstelling aan radioactieve straling van de werknemers van de centrale. Leidinggevenden van Tepco discussi雛en in beeld over manieren waarop de geldende regels omzeild kunnen worden zodat de werknemers extra lang kunnen worden blootgesteld.
Meer dan 160 medewerkers hebben de stralingsnormen overschreden. Tot nu toe is geen van hen ziek geworden.
Er is in totaal 150 uur aan beeldmateriaal. Tepco wilde dat eerst niet openbaar maken, maar is daar door de Japanse staat toe gedwongen, nadat het bedrijf eind vorige maand was genationaliseerd.

On the video of when reactor3 exploded on 3/14/2011 , Tepco staff at head office asked Fukushima Chief Yoshida “It was just like the explosion of reactor1, wasn’t it ?” When Yoshida answered “Well, the reactor building was…”, the audio was cut off

These videos were released to media for the beginning, and they were forced to agree to Tepco’s condition.
1) No recording. (Image and audio)
2) No reporting of the names of Tepco employees except for managing executives.
3) In case they violate the rules, they can no longer attend Tepco’s press conference or watch the videos.

Vraag over straling ik las laatst iets over Tsernobyl:
In de verboden zone Tsernobyl tiert het groen welig en ook het dierenleven lijkt zich niet alleen herstelt maar ook in grote mate te hebben aangepast aan de nog steeds hoge straling.
Hoe kan het dat de dieren daar geen last van hebben?
Heeft iemand een idee? Zijn de dieren daar sterker geworden door de straling of ge-evolueerd ofzo?
Ik begrijp t niet helemaal hoe kun je , je nou aanpassen aan zulk hoog stralingsnivo.

Nou ik verbaaste me over hoeveel reeen er wel niet zijn daar.

Na verloop van tijd groeien er weer nieuwe planten (een paar generaties) deze nemen niet veel straling meer op(dat hebben de vorige generaties aan planten al gedaan) daarnaast heeft de abraaktijd van radioactieve stoffen ook zijn werk gedaan
