Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta today thanked Liverpool Football Club for the help and support he received after suffering an injury during the match at Anfield on Saturday which left him needing hospital treatment.

After my accident on the pitch, the Arsenal medical staff did a great job, together with everyone at Liverpool Football Club.
From Anfield, I was taken straight to the Aintree University Hospital, where they checked me, just as precaution.
Everything was fine and I was able to travel from the hospital and join up with my teammates for the train journey back to London.
I've since looked back at the TV images of when I was being taken off and just want to show my appreciation to the Liverpool fans at Anfield. It is touching to receive that response from the fans of a great club when I am leaving the pitch injured. Thank-you.
I also want to thank Pepe Reina and the Liverpool players who have sent me messages of support and friendship, this again is really touching and just shows class from a great football club.
And very importantly, a message to all the fantastic Arsenal fans, not only all those at Anfield on Saturday who were brilliant, but also those who have sent me many messages since Saturday. It is hugely appreciated. I cannot tell you how much this means to me.
It must have looked very serious to everyone as I left the pitch on a stretcher, but I'm pleased to say that I'm fine now and hope to be back on the pitch very soon.

Ik verwacht ook niet dat hij de hele wedstrijd vol maakt als het bij rust nog gelijk is. Als ze heel onverwacht dan 2 0 voorstaan natuurlijk wel.

Wellington Silva heeft weer eens gescoord voor Alcoyano vs Villarreal II. Heeft nu 260 minuten gemaakt in 6 appearances, en nu dus ook 2 goals. Goede zet om hem naar deze club te sturen.

Here are some facts about the 19-year-old Brazilian.
In January 2011 he signed for Arsenal from Fluminese for a reported £3.5m. He played in a reserve match against Manchester United (he scored) as well as a closed-doors friendly against Dagenham & Redbridge (scored two). Silva was then denied a work visa for, what one can assume, was a wafer thin dossier of playing time whilst in the capital.
He was shipped off to Levante, where his progress was equally stunted. Silva made two league appearances (Almeria and Zaragoza) in a total of 36 minutes, adding a friendly goal against Swiss side Lierse during the calander year.
He was then moved by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger onto Segunda Division side Alcoyano at the start of 2012, who were languishing in 17th place in the 22-team league when he unpacked. Yet that lowly league position has afforded the teenager more minutes playing time than hes had up till now. The Brazilian has so far clocked 260 minutes in six games (always a substitute), but last weekend he staked a claim for a first team start with a consolation beauty in a 4-3 loss to Villarreal II.
In a wonderful movement of poise and purpose Wellington Silva jinked in between two opponents as the Arsenal starlet cut in from the left, advanced to the edge of the box, before arching an arrow into the far top corner. It was picture perfect.
