Bespreek hier de actuele situatie omtrent het Midden-Oosten.

De komende week wordt niet alleen belangrijk voor Libie, maar voor de opstanden in het gehele midden-oosten. Mocht Khadaffi inderdaad de macht behouden en op grote school 'overlopers' beginnen te liquideren, dan denk ik dat er nog maar weinig animo in andere landen is om op te staan tegen hun regimes.
Terwijl een overwinning van de opstandelingen juist gezien zal worden als een teken dat zelfs de meest agressieve landen niet op kunnen tegen de wil van -de meerderheid althans- het volk.

Witnesses claim more than 100 vehicles, thought to contain militia or Gaddafi's forces, made their way towards Brega yesterday and say helicopters were also used in the raid.
However a government spokesperson claims reports of a counter-attack on the rebel-held towns are false.

If true, the retaliation is Colonel Gaddafi's most significant military success since protests began in the east two weeks ago.
It comes as men in Tripoli, apparently fearing the capital was under attack, turned out to show their support for the leader following an oil tanker explosion.
Men carrying posters of Colonel Gaddafi and green flags appeared after the vehicle overturned and caught fire, sending plumes of smoke above the city.
"The reaction to this explosion shows you just how nervous this city is," said Sky correspondent Lisa Holland, who is in Tripoli.
"Within minutes, dozens of people had rushed to the scene to show their support for Colonel Gaddafi."
