Alhoewel de Vietnam voorbij is vind ik dit protest nummer nog even actueel. Je zou jungle tegewoordig voor desert kunnen vervangen.
Hoe dan ook, een heerlijk inspirerend nummer geschreven tijdens hun hoogtepunt. Zorg wel dat je een goed geluids-systeem hebt.

Als het niet met een hamer te repareren is, is het een elektrisch probleem.
Dit is een stuk komedie door Tom Waits waarin hij door middel van een fictief verhaal een cynische blik werpt op het Amerikaanse leven in de middenklasse, dan wel de Amerikaanse droom.

Ergens geeft dit me kippenvel. Het heeft allemaal een diepere betekenis, maar ik ben er van overtuigd dat 99,9% daar op die feesten nog nooit van Kaïn of Golgotha heeft gehoord. Zelf ben ik in het verleden een aantal jaren in de housewereld werkzaam geweest en heb niet de indruk dat producers zich heel veel (lees: helemaal niet) met bijbelse zaken bezig houden... het zijn gewoon jongens die van de muziek houden, net als ik dat vroeger sterk had. Toch, als je je een beetje verdiept in de materie, staat het bol van dit soort dingen en dát is wat me zo fascineert. Waar komt dit vandaan?
