Because of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the EPA is monitoring air quality in the region. The maps and charts below show current ozone and fine particulate Air Quality Index values at air quality monitors located along the Gulf coast. These maps and charts will be updated hourly to show the most recent conditions.

Gaat vooral over de olie industrie in de golf van mexico en wat beeldmaterial van de olie in de marshes. En interviews met de lokale bevolking.
Ze zeggen daar niets nieuws of zo maar ik vind het raar dat dit soort dingen niet op het NOS Journaal zijn. Bij andere rampen zie je continue huilende lokale bevolking, maar bij deze ramp, niets. het is niet eens meer in het nieuws... WK is een "mooie" afleiding...

trouwens, heeft iemand een link naar nieuws dat mensen daar in de regio ziek zijn geworden? Mischien met cijfers of artsen die iets vertellen? Ik heb veel vrienden daar in de regio en ik wil wel dat ze opletten maar ik wil ze niet onodig bang maken om naar buiten te gaan als ik het niet kan bewijzen. Ze werken grotendeels de hele dag buiten dus ik wil wel weten hoe het daar zit met de lucht en de regen etc.

Denk idd ook dat het nooit dicht gaat... de druk is te hoog en de boring heeft de aard corst op die plek te instabiel gemaakt.
