PENTAGRAM TO PLAY ROADBURN FESTIVAL 2011
Long-running D.C. doom legends Pentagram, with riff-meister Victor Griffin back in the fold, have been confirmed for the Thursday Roadburn date, Thursday, April 14th, 2011.
Pentagram: to the enlightened few they are one of the primary architects of heavy metal and obvious progenitors of doom metal, while to others they remain a mystery.
Less mysterious and downright miraculous is how the band (or more specifically the sole remaining original member, iconic vocalist Bobby Liebling) has triumphantly survived countless setbacks to return to the stage, armed with a limited yet astonishingly influential back catalogue.
Pentagram had an inestimable impact on today's burgeoning doom metal and stoner rock scene. Indeed, we at Roadburn Festival feel that Pentagram is on par with more widely-recognized pioneers such as Black Sabbath and Blue Cheer!
Come celebrate over three decades of primordial American doom with Pentagram at Roadburn Festival 2011.

Maar hoe zit dat nou met Sleep dan, komen ze nou definitief niet naar Roadburn 2011 want zoiets las ik.. dan weet ik dat ik er niet een jaar lang op hoef te hopen en wachten.

Goede confirmations! Geef persoonlijk niet zoveel om Alcest, Blood Ceremony is wel erg vet! In Solitude lijkt me ook gaaf gewoon lekkere heavy metal voor in de bat cave. Check ze:

Heb Alcest gezien toen in Leeuwarden en het is nog beter dan op plaat. Ik vind het mooi hoe Neige heel bewust het ene moment een mellow nummer speelt en de andere keer "iets" harder. Op cd hoor je dat ook maar live is het ook geniaal, lekker veel reverb in de akkoorden.
Ik zit nu het debuutalbum van Floodstain te luisteren, een band uit Hellevoetsluis. Klinkt nog aardig goed, en 15 oktober staan ze in het voorprogramma van Ufomammut in de Baroeg.

De vorige was inderdaad erg goed, ben wel benieuwd of ze weer net zo gaan klinken.
Dit is trouwens een behoorlijk briljant album, net uit op Phonosphera records.

They also have a element of classic early Desert Rock sounds like Kyuss. This is a intense combination of influences that creates a smorgasbord of trippy sounds and this album is indeed a mind-blowing experience.

WOVEN HAND ADDED TO ROADBURN 2011 LINE-UP
Roadburn is elated to announce that Woven Hand will be playing at the 2011 Roadburn Festival, Thursday April 14 at the 013 venue in Tillburg, Holland. We are very much looking forward to seeing David Eugene Edwards prove that making really heavy music does not necessarily mean having the loudest guitars or the most amps.
In Woven Hand (and his previous band 16 Horsepower) Edwards uses a funereal southern gothic mood, incredibly deep lyrical content and a distinctive vocal delivery to create some of the heaviest records of the millennium. The rock/folk/world/alt-country music that Woven Hand produce is shot through with southern torment and swathed in christian portent: a perfect soundtrack to a Flannery O'Connor story.
They will be touring behind their latest release, "The Threshingfloor", which delivers yet another epic sonic gloomscape laden with biblical references and philosophical lyrics. By turns intensely powerful and sublimely delicate, Woven Hand demand the listener's reverence and contemplation, something that syncs up perfectly with the already reverential Roadburn crowds.

Year of no Light is erg gaaf, hun album Ausserwelt is een van mijn favorieten uit 2010.
Dit is ook een erg gave sludge band, ze stonden op incubate, Ep is gratis te downloaden.

Black Mountain speelde gisteren op Incubate, in het natuurtheater in Oisterwijk. Midden in een bos ruim anderhalf uur psychedelic rock, man wat was dat gaaf!

Ik ken alleen Incredible Hog niet, volgens mij is dat bluesrock/hardrock uit de jaren zeventig.

Gisteren een klein stukje Circle gezien en dat was inderdaad heel erg gaaf. Achterlijk mooie line-up is dit aan het worden.
