Om bij het tergen van de laagfrequentie-range van je speakers te blijven: Troum. Op het album Tjukkurpa (Part Two: Drones) staan een aantal zeer puike track met scheurende duistere drones, met namen als Tiefenrausch en Afgod. Maar mijn favoriet is Dhren.

Ulrich Schnauss maakt de meest dromerige soundscapes. Zijn albums variëren tussen meer ambient-achtige tracks zonder beat, als bovenstaande nummers waar wel tempo in zit. "A strangely isolated place" (2004) is mijn favoriete album van hem; daar komt bovenstaande track ook vandaan. Het nieuwere "Goodbye" (2007) is iets meer liedjes-achtig. Ga die shit downloaden kopen...
Fijn album is dat ja. Kende je Jon Hopkins al? Wel vergelijkbaar, imo, alleen waar het werk van Schnauss nog wel eens ietwat sad en meer ingetogen wil klinken, is Hopkins meer uitgesproken en euforischer.
Thin Moon van James Pants (die normaal ergens in de electronic/hip hop/electro/funk opereert) covered door Mayer Hawthorne (een relatief nieuwe soulartiest). Misschien iets anders dan de meeste nummers in dit topic, maar zeker heel chill en fijn, vind ik.
