Dat zou een big blow zijn voor de Texans. Zonde want ze doen het eindelijk eens goed.quote:The Houston Texans’ offense lost Owen Daniels on Sunday, and the star tight end feared his season might be over after hurting his right knee on Sunday.
Daniels, who entered the game leading NFL tight ends with 497 yards receiving, said he’s scheduled to have tests on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.
“It doesn’t look good,” Houston coach Gary Kubiak said. “Obviously, (trainers) feel like he may have done some damage. I better be careful, but it does not look good.”
Daniels was hurt on Houston’s second possession when he was running a route and caught his foot in the turf. He said it’s possible a defender bumped or grabbed him just as he was making his cut. He went down and lay on the field for several minutes before he was helped up by Texans trainers and unable to put any weight on his right leg.
His injury is potentially a big blow to an offense that has been among the NFL’s best this season, and is a setback for a team that’s off to a franchise-best 5-3 start. Daniels entered the game leading Houston with 39 catches and five touchdowns.
quote:Despite big catch in win, Chambers released by Chargers
The San Diego Chargers released wide receiver Chris Chambers a day after he had a key catch in a 24-16 win over the Oakland Raiders.
Coach Norv Turner said the Chargers released Chambers because of the emergence of Malcom Floyd and the need to sign a linebacker after Tim Dobbins was injured against the Raiders.
Floyd was promoted on Sunday over Chambers, whose production had dropped off dramatically this season. Chambers, a nine-year veteran out of Wisconsin, had just nine receptions for 122 yards and one touchdown in seven games.
Chamber was acquired by the Chargers during the 2007 season from the Dolphins in exchange for a 2008 second-round draft pick. The Dolphins used that pick (No. 57 overall) to select quarterback Chad Henne. Chambers caught 35 passes for 555 yards and four touchdowns in the 10 games following the trade, and helped the Chargers reach the AFC Championship.
Ongelofelijk, 2 spelers aan wie ik mij spiegel qua spel in 2 weken eruit.... Eerst Cooley en nu Daniels...quote:Op maandag 2 november 2009 13:10 schreef The_Playmaker het volgende:

Het is weer een ouderwets zooitje daar in Cleveland....quote:BEREA, Ohio (AP)—The Cleveland Browns invisible general manager has disappeared.
George Kokinis, the hand-picked GM of first-year coach Eric Mangini who was rarely seen or heard in Cleveland, left the team Monday under unexplained circumstances after less than one year on the job.
After reports surfaced that Kokinis was fired, the team issued an awkwardly worded statement saying Kokinis “is no longer actively involved with the organization.” The Browns also denied reports that Kokinis was escorted from team headquarters.
Kokinis’ apparent ouster came one day after Browns owner Randy Lerner said he wanted to hire a “strong, credible, serious” football adviser to help run his struggling 1-7 team. Kokinis was hired on Jan. 23, two weeks after the Browns named Mangini as their fourth coach since 1999.
quote:RENTON, Wash. -- The struggling Seattle Seahawks have released running back Edgerrin James.
The Seahawks made the move Tuesday, two days after a lackluster 38-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
James signed with Seattle in late August hoping to revitalize a career that fell flat after moving from Indianapolis to Arizona.
In seven games as the backup to Julius Jones, James had just 46 carries for 125 yards and no scores. He averaged just 2.7 yards per carry.
James gained 17 yards at Dallas to pass Marcus Allen for 10th place on the NFL's all-time rushing leaders list with 12,246 yards.
Seattle also released safety C.J. Wallace and cornerback Travis Fisher and signed receiver Mike Hass, safety Jamar Adams and cornerback Roy Lewis from the practice squad
Tja, dit zegt toch wel genoeg.quote:Kansas City Chiefs fans have started an online petition asking the team to deactivate Larry Johnson for the rest of the season so he can't break Priest Holmes' franchise rushing record. The fans also don't want LJ to join the team's Ring of Honor at Arrowhead Stadium.
