Canon heeft dinsdag de 7D officieel gepresenteerd. De aps-c-camera beschikt over een 18-megapixel-cmos-sensor en kan acht foto's per seconde en hd-video's maken. Het toestel heeft een adviesprijs van 1739 euro gekregen.

Tamron launches stabilized 17-50mm F2.8 zoom
Tamron has announced a revised version of its popular 17-50mm F2.8 fast standard zoom for APS-C/DX SLRs, which now incorporates optical image stabilization (or as the company calls it, Vibration Compensation). The SP AF 17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II VC LD Aspherical [IF] offers a useful wide angle to short telephoto range of 26-78mm (35mm equivalent) in a compact design scarcely larger than its unstabilized predecessor. The 19 element / 14 group optical design employs a host of special elements to minimize aberrations, and features a minimum focusing distance of 0.29m over the entire zoom range, with a maximum magnification of 0.21x. It will be available in Nikon mount (with a built-in focusing motor) from mid-September, with a Canon version to follow.

Corel has introduced the Digital Studio 2010 image and video editing software package with touch operation. With the right hardware, users can touch and edit their digital files or use traditional mouse operation. The included software allows users to organize, edit and upload photos and videos, create slideshows and home movies complete with soundtracks and voice-over. Digital Studio 2010 is now available for download at a retail price of $99.99 USD or £59 GBP.

Suitable for use on both APS-C and full frame cameras, this lens incorporates Sigma's Optical Stabilization technology allowing hand-held shooting at shutter speeds up to 4 stops slower than usual, along with a circular diaphragm for attractive rendition of out-of-focus backgrounds. The minimum focus distance is 1.5m giving a maximum magnification of 0.26x; unlike Sigma's non-stabilized 70-300mm zooms there's no extended macro focusing option. The Leica M9, with its 24 x 36mm, 18 megapixel sensor is, according to the company: 'the world's smallest full-frame system camera.' The body is available in a new 'Steel Gray' finish and offers minor button re-arrangement over the M8 - all the major changes relate to the internals. The Kodak-developed CCD sensor features improved offset microlenses to optimize performance at the edges of the frame along with a sensor cover with improved filtering of infrared light so lens-mounted IR filters are no longer needed. Most importantly, the 35mm film-sized sensor means every Leica M-mount lens provides the originally intended field of view.

Adobe releases Lightroom 2.5 & Camera Raw 5.5.
Adobe has released Photoshop Lightroom 2.5 and Camera Raw 5.5. These are final versions of updates which were originally posted as 'release candidates' on the Adobe Labs site, and are now available for immediate download. Both provide additional Raw support for Nikon D300S, Nikon D3000, Panasonic DMC-GF1 and Olympus E-P1. Although support is offered for Panasonic DMC-FZ35, it doesn't extend to the Japanese and European version of the camera (the FZ38). In addition, the ACR update also includes corrections for sensors with non-conventional color filter arrays (as introduced in the most recent DNG specification).
Carl Zeiss announces 18mm F3.5 for Canon
Carl Zeiss has announced the price and availability of the Canon-mount version of its 18mm F3.5 lens. The 'ZE-mount' version of the Distagon T* 3.5/18 super-wide angle lens was first shown in March at the Photo Imaging Expo in Tokyo and will be available in Autumn 2009 for a suggested retail price of ¤1049.

Afgelopen augustus heeft Nikon haar 50 miljoenste Nikkor SLR objectief geproduceerd. De eerste Nikkor met F-vatting was de Nikkor-S Auto 5cm f/2, gelanceerd in 1959, samen met de eerste Nikon spiegelreflex: de Nikkor F.
Sinds de introductie van de F-vatting vijftig jaar geleden, heeft Nikon 50 miljoen objectieven geproduceerd voor dit type camera. De productie blijft toenemen, tussen augustus 2008 en augustus 2009 rolden er vijf miljoen Nikkor-objectieven uit de fabriek.

De naam Nikkor stamt nog uit de tijd dat Nikon als Nippon Kogaku K.K. bekend stond. Dit werd afgekort als ‘Nikko’. Het was destijds gebruikelijk om objectieven de toevoeging “R” te geven, met als resultaat de merknaam Nikkor. Vorig jaar vierde Nikon al het 75-jarige bestaan van de merknaam. In 1933 zag de eerste Nikkor het levenslicht. De zogenaamde Aero-Nikkor was speciaal ontwikkeld voor fotografie vanuit de lucht.

Fotomuseum Den Haag exposeert vanaf 26 september a.s. de vijf bekendste fotoseries van Sally Mann waarin haar twee grote liefdes centraal staan: The Family and The Land.
Alles aan de foto's van Sally Mann (Lexington, VA, VS 1951) ademt sfeer; of het nu de portretten van haar opgroeiende kinderen zijn, de natuur om haar heen of de dood en vergankelijkheid die ze op bijzondere wijze in beeld brengt.
Door het gebruik van antieke camera's en 19e-eeuwse fotografische processen krijgt haar werk een bijna tastbare authenticiteit. Haar unieke kijk op de wereld en de wijze waarop ze die weet te verbeelden, hebben haar één van de belangrijkste fotografen van de Verenigde Staten gemaakt.

Pentax brengt twee 12-megapixelcamera's uit.
Pentax heeft twee digitale compactcamera's aan zijn assortiment toegevoegd. De Optio E85 lijkt vooral gericht te zijn op beginnende fotografen, terwijl Pentax in de Optio M85 onder andere een hd-modus voor het schieten van video's heeft gestopt.
De Pentax Optio E85 beschikt over een 12-megapixel-beeldsensor, terwijl de lens 3x optische zoom biedt. De gevoeligheid van de ccd ligt tussen de 80 en 3200 iso. Aan de achterzijde van de 125 gram zware compactcamera is een 2,7"-lcd-scherm te vinden. Standaard biedt de camera 10MB intern geheugen, terwijl er met vga-resolutie eenvoudige filmpjes geschoten kunnen worden, zo meldt de Duitse Engadget. Opmerkelijk is de speciale 'ocr-modus', waarmee gefotografeerde tekst voor ocr-software wordt geoptimaliseerd. De meegeleverde li-on-accu heeft volgens Pentax een uithoudingsvermogen die goed zou moeten zijn voor het maken van tweehonderd foto's. De Optio E85 moet eind oktober op de markt verschijnen en kent een adviesprijs van 129 euro.
De Optio M85, die een adviesprijs van 179 euro heeft gekregen, beschikt eveneens over een ccd-sensor van 12 megapixel en een 3x-zoomlens. Het display is met zijn diagonaal van 3 inch echter een slag groter dan die van de E85. Google has announced version 3.5 of Picasa, its free image-editing software program. Google announces Picasa 3.5.
Google has announced version 3.5 of Picasa, its free image-editing software program. The latest version features improved tagging and import options and enhanced geo-tagging with integration of Google Maps. In addition, the company has also launched a Mac version of the software including most of the features of its PC version.

Ten opzichte van de H3D is de autofocus belangrijk verbeterd. De H4D heeft een achterwand met 60 trotse megapixels en komt ergens in november in de handel.
De financieel minder bedeelden moeten nog even wachten tot het eerste kwartaal van 2010 wanneer de H4D-50 het tot de schappen brengt, deze zweed heeft slechts 50MP maar kost dan ook slechts zo'n ¤ 20.000.-

Dat hangt er in vrij sterke mate vanaf wie hem vasthoudt. Ik hem mensen met Hasselblads op een dusdanige manier zien blunderen dat zelfs de meest vergevingsgezinde negatieffilm onafdrukbare negatieven opleverde. Niet een enkel foutje of zo, maar gewoon stelselmatig alles aan een opname verkrukken wat er maar te verkrukken viel. Phase One has released the 645DF medium format camera developed with Mamiya Digital Imaging. The camera, which will be available under both brand names, offers flash sync speeds of up to 1/1600 of a second as well as faster AF and capture rates than its predecessors. It is the only 645 series camera offering both focal plane and leaf shutters and it is compatible with most digital backs designed for the Phase One and Mamiya AFD mount, including those from Phase One, Leaf and Mamiya. The two companies have also announced a partnership with lens specialist Schneider Kreuznach. The first results are 55mm, 80mm and 110mm F/2.8 leaf shutter lenses designed for the 645DF. The new camera and lenses are expected to start shipping by the end of this year. The 645DF is priced at $5990/¤4290 and the lenses start at $2490/¤1790.

Nikon AF-S DX Micro Nikkor 85mm F3.5G VR
Nikon has also introduced an image-stabilised micro lens for DX format cameras, the AF-S DX Micro Nikkor 85mm F3.5G VR. Featuring a whole host of goodies, including an AF-S motor for fast silent autofocus, Nikon's second-generation vibration reduction (VR II) system, and a circular diaphragm for attractive background blur, this lens gives 1:1 magnification at minimum focus distance of 28cm. The 85mm focal length (equivalent to 128mm on full frame) also gives a flattering perspective for portraits. The optical design uses 14 elements in 10 groups with one ED element, and the internal focus design means the front element does not rotate on focusing, enabling the use of lens-mounted macro lights.
