Het tournament van 1943 is voorbij, leve het tournament van 1944!
1944. Sommige delen van Nederland werden bevrijd en de mensen konden hun aandacht weer verleggen van bloembollen naar films. Of althans, dat stel ik me zo voor, wat moest je anders in 1944?
Glenn Miller komt helaas dit jaar om het leven, net zoals kunstenaars Munch en Mondriaan. Ook Louis Renault gooit het bijltje erbij neer. Er zijn echter ook een aantal nieuwelingen te verwelkomen, zoals Jeroen Krabbé, Michael Douglas en Boudewijn de Groot.
Casablanca won de Oscar voor Beste Film. Best apart voor een film die in 1942 gemaakt is, maar ja, laten we het maar laten rusten. Om er nu nog bezwaar tegen te maken is gewoon zielig. Paul Lukas won Beste Acteur voor de film Watch on the Rhine, een film die zwaar verwaarloosd is op FOK!. Jennifer Jones won Beste Actrice voor het gedrocht The Song of Bernadette.
Wat gaan we doen?
De bedoeling is om eerst een stel films te nomineren en dan later deze films twee aan twee te zetten. Op die manier kunnen we telkens de beste van de twee kiezen en houden we uiteindelijk maar 1 film over. Geniaal systeem.
Nomineren
Een film mag meedoen aan het tournament als er minimaal twee mensen zijn die 'm nomineren. Dit om te voorkomen dat we een winnaar krijgen uit Oezbekistan met 4 votes op IMDB. Daarnaast is er nog een extra regel bij dit tournament: om saaie rondes met 0-0 en 1-0 scores te voorkomen omdat er films genomineerd worden die geen enkele kans maken om te winnen, bestaat dit tournament uit maximaal 16 films. Dat betekent dat alleen de 16 hoogstgenoteerde films op IMDB mee mogen doen uit alle nominaties.
