Hey,
"It's Tetris? What else is there to say?"
Tetris comes to the Super Nintendo in it's upteenth format, this time in a 1994 version from Nintendo. Tetris 2 improves upon the traditional Tetris format - you keep falling blocks from stacking up, like usual, but this time there are fancy things like Fixed Blocks and Flash Blocks. Tetris is as addictive as ever in this edition, and if haven't tried it yet, definitely try to get your hands on Tetris 2.
The controls are as perfect as ever - everything goes quickly and smoothly, and there are no frustrating moments at all. Like every other version of Tetris, you're able to go at it in 2-player mode with a friend. You're also able to go through Normal Mode against the computer, as well.
The graphics are the usual affair for Tetris - nothing showy, but everything looks clean and colorful. The backgrounds are detailed and interesting. Bouncy music accompanies the game, and again, it's nothing showy but it is still a good feature. The sound effects consist of the blocks clinking and clanking together as they fall.
There are a million different versions of Tetris, but until you've played them all, you don't really know what you're missing. Tetris 2 was released on several different systems, but the best version by far is the SNES one. Pick it up on sight, whether you like puzzle games or not.
