Dat zie ik zelf niet zo. Juist deze harde manier van doen ondergraaft het regime steeds verder, de legitimiteit van de republiek wordt hiermee zwaar aangetast. Kijk in Burma kunnen ze volhouden omdat de hele top van de junta erachter staat, in Noord-Korea omdat repressie hun manier van leven is en iedereen van kindsaf in Juche gelooft, maar in Iran tast het regime zichzelf aan en is verdeeld. Ze hebben zeg maar een coup tegen zichzelf gepleegd. Tenzij Khameini en co duidelijke plannen hebben voor een nieuwe orde zie ik niet hoe ze blijvende instabiliteit kunnen vermijden.

We leven hier in Nederland. Voor de één zijn het relschoppers, voor de ander zijn het mensen die demonstreren tegen de onderdrukking en voor de mensenrechten die wel degelijk geschonden worden daar.quote:

Ik kan alleen maar respect opbrengen voor mensen die samen kenbaar maken het zat te zijn zoals de ware touwtrekker met hun omgaat. Of het een verbetering zal worden onder die Mousavi vraag ik mij wel af, maar het volk maakt in ieder geval kenbaar dat ze het niet eens zijn met de huidige gang van zaken.
Hier in Nederland mag je het ook wagen die mening niet te delen en dat kenbaar maken.

Are the Iranian Protests Another US Orchestrated "Color Revolution?"

A number of commentators have expressed their idealistic belief in the purity of Mousavi, Montazeri, and the westernized youth of Terhan. The CIA destabilization plan, announced two years ago (see below) has somehow not contaminated unfolding events.
The claim is made that Ahmadinejad stole the election, because the outcome was declared too soon after the polls closed for all the votes to have been counted. However, Mousavi declared his victory several hours before the polls closed. This is classic CIA destabilization designed to discredit a contrary outcome. It forces an early declaration of the vote. The longer the time interval between the preemptive declaration of victory and the release of the vote tally, the longer Mousavi has to create the impression that the authorities are using the time to fix the vote. It is amazing that people don’t see through this trick.
As for the grand ayatollah Montazeri’s charge that the election was stolen, he was the initial choice to succeed Khomeini, but lost out to the current Supreme Leader. He sees in the protests an opportunity to settle the score with Khamenei. Montazeri has the incentive to challenge the election whether or not he is being manipulated by the CIA, which has a successful history of manipulating disgruntled politicians.
There is a power struggle among the ayatollahs. Many are aligned against Ahmadinejad because he accuses them of corruption, thus playing to the Iranian countryside where Iranians believe the ayatollahs' lifestyles indicate an excess of power and money. In my opinion, Ahmadinejad's attack on the ayatollahs is opportunistic. However, it does make it odd for his American detractors to say he is a conservative reactionary lined up with the ayatollahs.
Commentators are "explaining" the Iran elections based on their own illusions, delusions, emotions, and vested interests. Whether or not the poll results predicting Ahmadinejad's win are sound, there is, so far, no evidence beyond surmise that the election was stolen. However, there are credible reports that the CIA has been working for two years to destabilize the Iranian government.
On May 23, 2007, Brian Ross and Richard Esposito reported on ABC News: “The CIA has received secret presidential approval to mount a covert “black” operation to destabilize the Iranian government, current and former officials in the intelligence community tell ABC News.”
On May 27, 2007, the London Telegraph independently reported: “Mr. Bush has signed an official document endorsing CIA plans for a propaganda and disinformation campaign intended to destabilize, and eventually topple, the theocratic rule of the mullahs.”
A few days previously, the Telegraph reported on May 16, 2007, that Bush administration neocon warmonger John Bolton told the Telegraph that a US military attack on Iran would “be a ‘last option’ after economic sanctions and attempts to foment a popular revolution had failed.”
On June 29, 2008, Seymour Hersh reported in the New Yorker: “Late last year, Congress agreed to a request from President Bush to fund a major escalation of covert operations against Iran, according to current and former military, intelligence, and congressional sources. These operations, for which the President sought up to four hundred million dollars, were described in a Presidential Finding signed by Bush, and are designed to destabilize the country’s religious leadership.”
The protests in Tehran no doubt have many sincere participants. The protests also have the hallmarks of the CIA orchestrated protests in Georgia and Ukraine. It requires total blindness not to see this.
Daniel McAdams has made some telling points. For example, neoconservative Kenneth Timmerman wrote the day before the election that “there’s talk of a ‘green revolution’ in Tehran.” How would Timmerman know that unless it was an orchestrated plan? Why would there be a ‘green revolution’ prepared prior to the vote, especially if Mousavi and his supporters were as confident of victory as they claim? This looks like definite evidence that the US is involved in the election protests.
Timmerman goes on to write that “the National Endowment for Democracy has spent millions of dollars promoting ‘color’ revolutions . . . Some of that money appears to have made it into the hands of pro-Mousavi groups, who have ties to non-governmental organizations outside Iran that the National Endowment for Democracy funds.” Timmerman’s own neocon Foundation for Democracy is “a private, non-profit organization established in 1995 with grants from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), to promote democracy and internationally-recognized standards of human rights in Iran.”

Het is erg naief om te denken dat deze revolutie een fluwelen zou kunen zijn. Geweldloze revoluties komen voor, maar alleen als de tegenstander simpelweg onderdeel is van een niet al te ideologisch systeem en vecht voor zijn baan en zijn baas. In dat geval denkt de " jan de soldaat met de pet" op een gegeven moment "bekijk het maar, ik schiet niet langer op mijn broeders omdat <insert dictator> mij dat opdraagt terwijl die jonge mensen simpelweg bloemen uitdelen en liederen zingen. In Iran kan je dit helaas vergeten omdat er idealisten aan beide kanten staan. Ook de ordetroepen zijn namelijk idealisten, zij het erg foute.... Ze geloven in hun strijd, ze geloven daadwerkelijk in het Fundamentalistische ideaal en in hun bizarre en verwrongen wereldbeeld strijden ze op dit moment voor het voortbestaan van deze 'heilstaat" en ter meerder eer en glorie va Allah en Mohammed. Elke losgeslagen twintiger die ze daarbij eventueel over de kling jagen brengt ze in hun optiek alleen maar dichter bij het paradijs, ze zullen er geen traan om laten.
Als deze revolutie doorzet dan zal het een bloedige zijn. De enige hoop die je kan, en moet, hebben is dat er een zwijgende meerderheid is in Iran (Lees: Teheran) die het op een gegeven moment niet meer kan aanzien. Als zij actief de kant van de betogers kiezen en bereid zijn te vechten dan is het hek van de dam en kan de regering het absoluut niet meer in de hand houden.
De zwijgende meerderheid is er in teheran, daar ben ik van overtuigd. Maar of het moment wordt bereikt waarop de doorsnee Iranees besluit zijn vrouw en kinderen nog een laatste zoen op de wang te geven om vervolgens gekleed in een groene trui met een kalashnikov de straat op te gaan en misschien niet meer thuis te komen is de vraag.

Iran kan deze opstand wellicht wel neerslaan, maar de nasleep is niet meer te stoppen. Er zijn vast meer mensen die gefilmd hebben, foto's hebben etc. Als dit achter de rug is en Iran zou de telefoonlijnen en internetlijnen weer open gooien dan komt er vast nog een hele shitload aan materiaal naar buiten. Materiaal waarvan ik verwacht dat men geen vrienden zal maken in de rest van de wereld. Er zullen toch weinig landen staan te springen om weer jolig contact met Iran te hebben als er filmpjes zijn waarop de Iraanse politie of dat andere tuig mensen bewerken met een bijl.
Men kan na de opstand de boel dicht houden en isoleren, maar dat is wederom een brandend lontje, dan begint het volk vanzelf nog wel een keer te morren en nu zonder te stoppen, want ze hebben dan toch al de bodem bereikt na de vorige opstand, dus weinig meer te verliezen dan.

Als het niet zo verschrikkelijk was zou het lachwekkend zijn, dit stuk uit de Keyhan die nauwe banden heeft met Khamenei:
Title: Kayhan's report on the wave of revenge from Mousavi demanded by the people
Body: Tens of dead and injured, widespread destruction of public property, widespread fires, and hundreds of citizens' cars destroyed are the results of two weeks of dodging the law and the selfishness of Mir Hossein Mousavi.
Mousavi, the extremists' candidate, and that of the triplet parties of Mosharekat, Kargozaran, and Mojahedin, who initially entered the tenth presidential elections with the promise of respect for the law, forgot his promises as soon as he received the negative vote of 25 million Iranians, and showed his true face which was previously hidden behind the glamorous election rhetoric.
The candidate for extremists who call themselves reformers, the day after the elections on 22nd of Khordard, without offering any evidence or documentation, and when more than 40 thousand of his representatives at voting centers had effectively approved the health of the elections, decided to declare 40 million votes of Iranians as invalid. He did not stop there, and by continuously issuing strong provocative statements called on his followers to use illegal methods.
This act, which is outside the law, reached its peak when the unauthorized gathering of 25th of Khordad in Azadi square was orchestrated. This illegal gathering took place a day after Mousavi had stated his case in his meeting with the Leader of the revolution, and the Leadership had strongly suggested that he should pursue his grievances through legal channels.
But Mousavi, without regard for this logical suggestion, sent his followers to the illegal gathering in Azadi square, himself attending the gathering as well, and proceeded to deliver a strongly worded speech against the legal institutions of the system.
At the conclusion of Mousavi's fiery speech, a number of his extremist followers and anarchists started harassing innocent people. Setting hundreds of buses and public transportation vehicles on fire, widespread torching of banks, breaking windows, and finally the murderous act at the "Avay-e Baran" kindergarten are examples of the handiwork of Mousavi's anarchist followers on 25th Khordard, 1388.
Apparently what had happened was that anarchists, after hearing Mousavi's speech, which in itself was a wonder, start an attack towards the Basij station at the beginning of MohammadAli Jenah street. The anarchists who were armed with guns, in this barbaric attack, start firing towards a mother and daughter who had taken refuge inside a kindergarten, and martyr them. The green masks do not stop there and using machetes kill or injure other people in a gruesome fashion.
According to official reports, the travesties of 25th Khordad resulted in the death of a minimum of 7 innocent people, injury of 36 people, widespread destruction of public property, etc.
Even after these tragedies, the self proclaimed law abider did not resort to the law, and continued to issue his rogue, provocative statements. He even misused the pacifism of the Islamic system, and by accusing the ruling body switched the accused and the accuser. This pathetic behavior of Mousavi continued even after the helpful, kind, and alarmed guidance of the Leader of the revolution, and his followers created another disaster on Saturday, 30th Khordard in the west of Tehran.
On Saturday night, anarchist elements created havoc along the path from Enghelab to Azadi square, and attacked what people hold sacred. In this unrest, which armed individuals helped organize and manage, in addition to destroying public and private property, a number of mosques where also attacked and Lolagar mosque at the intersection of Azarbaijan and Navab streets was set on fire.
A number of devout mosque attendees where martyred in this anarchist act. Unfortunately the presence of terrorist elements, and their use of guns and explosives resulted in the murder of 10 citizens and the injury of more than 100 people.
Additionally, a few hours before the unrest of 30th Khordad, a terrorist, by taking advantage of the atmosphere created by Mousavi, tried to place a bomb in the sacred mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, and despite the alert security agents preventing him from entering the mausoleum, he detonated his explosives which in addition to offending the sanctity of the late Imam's mausoleum, injured a number of the visiting pilgrims, and killed the terrorist.
But after all these tragedies, Mousavi did not abandon his accuser role, and by releasing his 6th statement, called the anarchists people that have been confronted for their views!
Through his official website, he even asked those affected by recent events to send their phone numbers to his office for legal pursuit. This is while many of the victims of the recent events have announced that they consider Mousavi as the main culprit responsible for the murders and tragedies of the last two weeks; and along the same lines more than 2000 complaints filed by people have been received by officials from the relatives of the killed and the injured.
Whether Mousavi agrees or not, the responsibility of these murders including the death of about 20 innocent citizens, hundreds of injured people, 200 cases of banks being torched, 200 private cars being destroyed, and 300 cases of public property destruction lies with him.
Additionally commander Radan, the deputy chief of national police force, has announced that in the recent anarchy 400 members of the police force have been injured, and people have sent in more than 10,000 cases of complaints asking the police to confront the anarchists. He emphasized that those who invite people to illegal gatherings and hold demonstrations should pay the price of their actions.
Its following these murderous acts that the wave of people's desire for revenge from Mir Hossein Mousavi is increasing day by day, and Mir Hossein will not be able to avoid assuming responsibility under the guise of attending memorial services for the victims, or childish acts like lighting a candle, and to avoid answering the question that if it weren't for his insistence to disregard the law - which certainly is due to none other than his lack of meaningful documentation - would the required conditions for so many criminal acts and murders materialize? This is while there is plenty of evidence that the anarchists of the past few days have received large sums of money, and some people, who have all been identified, have been busy organizing hooligans to create insecurity in the streets. All these efforts have taken place in the framework of supporting Mousavi, and in important cases, official members of his campaign and reformist that are close to him have been involved.
Mousavi is trying to portray these anarchist events as populist while altogether there are no more than a few thousand anarchists, and the 13 million strong people that voted for him have not only refrained from showing any sign of support for these provocations, but through various means including contacting the media have clearly stated their disgust with his acts. Apparently what had happened was that anarchists, after hearing Mousavi's speech, which in itself was a wonder, start an attack towards the Basij station at the beginning of MohammadAli Jenah street. The anarchists who were armed with guns, in this barbaric attack, start firing towards a mother and daughter who had taken refuge inside a kindergarten, and martyr them. The green masks do not stop there and using machetes kill or injure other people in a gruesome fashion.
According to official reports, the travesties of 25th Khordad resulted in the death of a minimum of 7 innocent people, injury of 36 people, widespread destruction of public property, etc.
Even after these tragedies, the self proclaimed law abider did not resort to the law, and continued to issue his rogue, provocative statements. He even misused the pacifism of the Islamic system, and by accusing the ruling body switched the accused and the accuser. This pathetic behavior of Mousavi continued even after the helpful, kind, and alarmed guidance of the Leader of the revolution, and his followers created another disaster on Saturday, 30th Khordard in the west of Tehran.
On Saturday night, anarchist elements created havoc along the path from Enghelab to Azadi square, and attacked what people hold sacred. In this unrest, which armed individuals helped organize and manage, in addition to destroying public and private property, a number of mosques where also attacked and Lolagar mosque at the intersection of Azarbaijan and Navab streets was set on fire.
A number of devout mosque attendees where martyred in this anarchist act. Unfortunately the presence of terrorist elements, and their use of guns and explosives resulted in the murder of 10 citizens and the injury of more than 100 people.
Additionally, a few hours before the unrest of 30th Khordad, a terrorist, by taking advantage of the atmosphere created by Mousavi, tried to place a bomb in the sacred mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, and despite the alert security agents preventing him from entering the mausoleum, he detonated his explosives which in addition to offending the sanctity of the late Imam's mausoleum, injured a number of the visiting pilgrims, and killed the terrorist.
But after all these tragedies, Mousavi did not abandon his accuser role, and by releasing his 6th statement, called the anarchists people that have been confronted for their views!
Through his official website, he even asked those affected by recent events to send their phone numbers to his office for legal pursuit. This is while many of the victims of the recent events have announced that they consider Mousavi as the main culprit responsible for the murders and tragedies of the last two weeks; and along the same lines more than 2000 complaints filed by people have been received by officials from the relatives of the killed and the injured.
Whether Mousavi agrees or not, the responsibility of these murders including the death of about 20 innocent citizens, hundreds of injured people, 200 cases of banks being torched, 200 private cars being destroyed, and 300 cases of public property destruction lies with him.
Additionally commander Radan, the deputy chief of national police force, has announced that in the recent anarchy 400 members of the police force have been injured, and people have sent in more than 10,000 cases of complaints asking the police to confront the anarchists. He emphasized that those who invite people to illegal gatherings and hold demonstrations should pay the price of their actions.
Its following these murderous acts that the wave of people's desire for revenge from Mir Hossein Mousavi is increasing day by day, and Mir Hossein will not be able to avoid assuming responsibility under the guise of attending memorial services for the victims, or childish acts like lighting a candle, and to avoid answering the question that if it weren't for his insistence to disregard the law - which certainly is due to none other than his lack of meaningful documentation - would the required conditions for so many criminal acts and murders materialize? This is while there is plenty of evidence that the anarchists of the past few days have received large sums of money, and some people, who have all been identified, have been busy organizing hooligans to create insecurity in the streets. All these efforts have taken place in the framework of supporting Mousavi, and in important cases, official members of his campaign and reformist that are close to him have been involved.
Mousavi is trying to portray these anarchist events as populist while altogether there are no more than a few thousand anarchists, and the 13 million strong people that voted for him have not only refrained from showing any sign of support for these provocations, but through various means including contacting the media have clearly stated their disgust with his acts. Als je een beetje CNN zou kijken dan had je kunnen zien dat ze er tot vervelends toe over neuzelen. Dat zullen ze ook nog wel een paar maanden blijven doen, er zal een onderzoek van 2 jaar volgen, een half miljard smartegeld aan diverse slachtoffers en huilies, interviews in elke krant met iedereen die ook maar in de buurt van het metrostel was en uiteindelijk een special op de Discovery channel show "seconds from disaster".
De VS is Iran niet hoor...

Maar de mond vól over het project-Iran, talloze berichten hierover en stemmingmakende plaatjes en ze besteden hier op de frontpage van de website 0,0 aandacht aan, als de toonaangevende Amerikaanse nieuwszender. Hoezo objectieve verslaggeving? Het komt even niet zo goed uit zeker? Lekker geloofwaardig weer allemaal daar.

Overigens leuk dat je weer iets hebt om CNN mee af te kraken, ChooseLife, maar als je gewoon naar de Amerikaanse editie van de website gaat, (en dus niet de Europese uit mijn screenshot) zul je vanalles vinden over het ongeluk.
