The following document, known as the Seven Point Manifesto, calling for the resignation of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, has hit the streets of Iran. Hundreds of thousands of copies have already been circulated throughout the country.

A copy was sent from Tehran to filmmaker and activist Ardeshir Arian, who has translated it for Pajamas Media:

The Seven Point Manifesto calls for:

1.Stripping Ayatollah Khamanei of his Supreme Leadership position because of his unfairness. Fairness is a requirement of a Supreme Leader.

2. Stripping Ahmadinejad of the presidency, due to his unlawful act of maintaining the position illegally.

3.Transferring temporary Supreme Leadership position to Ayatollah Hussein-Ali Montazery until the formation of a committee to reevaluate and adjust Iran’s constitution.

4. Recognizing Mir Hossein Mousavi as the rightfully elected president of the people.

5. Formation of a new government by President Mousavi and preparation for the implementation of new constitutional amendments.

6. Unconditional release of all political prisoners regardless of ideaology or party platform.

7. Dissolution of all organizations - both secret and public - designed for the oppression of the Iranian people, such as the Gasht Ershad (Iranian morality police)

Als we mazzel hebben komt er ook nog een nieuwe revolutie.

Waarom is destijds Persia eigenlijk veranderd in Iran?

Ik vind Perzië veel mooier klinken en bovendien is het de historische benaming van het land, toch?

Ik volg het niet op de voet, maar er is inmiddels al sprake van 'het Iraanse verzet'?

Dat is niet de goede benaming, zo noemden de Grieken Iran destijds. De Iraniërs noemden zelf hun land al wel Iran. Iran betekent letterlijk 'Land van de Ariërs'.

Het blijft intrigerend, en lastig om te evalueren wat er aan de hand is met zulke onvolledige bronnen.

Er wordt door Iran een hoop valse informatie rondgestuurd op twitter, dikke kans dat deze info ook vals is.

En ze zeggen niet eens direct dat de raad van hoeders wegmoet; een andere ayatollah dient Khamenei af te lossen. Ik vind het eigenlijk opvallend gematigd. Wat misschien ook wel moet. Sowieso omdat Mousavi niet iemand lijkt te zijn die wil breken met de Islamitische Revolutie. Al heel lang niets meer gehoord van Khatami, zou hij nog leven?

Als verandering plaats kan vinden, moet men nu doorzetten. Die Moussavi ook niet meer vertrouwen.

Als ik tussen de regels door lees van hun 7 punten manifest dan willen ze de grondwet veranderen, dat kan impliceren dat de raad van hoeders zich niet meer mag bemoeien met de politiek.
En idd die Moussavi is een vreemde keuze gezien dat hij een van de topstukken was van de Islamitische revolutie...

Inderdaad, Twitter wordt nu ook door de overheid gebruikt om misleidende informatie te verspreiden. Vooralsnog gaat de demonstratie op Valiasr St. door om 14:30 NL tijd.

Ik zie Mousavi al briefjes naast zijn hoofd houden a la "hello 4chan" om zijn echtheid te bewijzen.

Dit is wel heel interresant. Het word nu bijna een soort van puzzel om uit te zoeken wat valse tweets zijn en wat niet. Enig idee welke accounts van de overheid zouden kunnen zijn?
