Wat is de Top 2000?
Luister mee via Radio 2 of via de stream op het internet.quote:De Top 2000 is een radioprogramma van het Nederlandse station Radio 2 en wordt sinds 1999 uitgezonden aan het eind van elk jaar. De uitzending begint om 0:00 uur op tweede Kerstdag en gaat non-stop door tot 0:00 uur op Oudjaarsnacht. Bovendien worden alle nummers het hele volgende jaar in wisselende volgorde via het DAB- en Internetkanaal Top 2000 uitgezonden.
Tussen kerst en oud en nieuw worden de 2000 populairste platen aller tijden gedraaid. Wat de populairste platen zijn wordt door de luisteraars bepaald, door middel van een stemming op internet. De nummer 1 was tussen 1999 en 2004 het nummer Bohemian Rhapsody van Queen. In 2005 stond het nummer 'Avond' van Boudewijn de Groot op nummer 1, maar in 2006 heeft Queen de nummer 1 positie herwonnen.

As tears go by, is echt een pareltje. Een jaar of vijftien terug kon ik geen genoeg krijgen van dit nummer; telkens opnieuw de kop op de zelfde groef laten landen en nóg een keer. De nummers die voor As tears go by er op stonden heb ik eigenlijk nooit zo goed leren kennen
