Het gebeurt wel vaker, dat er publiek is bij de soundcheck. Tijdens de Confessions Tour werd ze hier ook nog eens heel kwaad over, maar nu doet ze gewoon leuk mee!

De Sticky & Sweet Tour is tot een einde gekomen...

With the completion of Madonna's final show in Sao Paulo Brazil last evening - one of eleven record-breaking performances in South America - the 'Material Girl's' 'Sticky & Sweet' Tour reigns supreme by becoming the Number One Largest Grossing Tour in history by a solo artist, it was confirmed today by Live Nation, the tour's international producer. Her 58 shows in Europe, the US, Canada, Mexico and South America played for a staggering 2,350,282 million fans and sold over (USD)280,000,000 in tickets.

"Madonna has yet again demonstrated her true global appeal as a live performer whether in stadiums or arenas. Not only will this tour be the top selling tour of all time for a solo artist and a female artist (eclipsing her own record), but it will position her as one of the top selling touring artists of all time" said Arthur Fogel, Live Nation's Chairman of Global Music and CEO of Global Touring.

Along with record breaking ticket sales in South America with a total 650,000 tickets sold, the 'Sticky & Sweet' Tour sold 72,000 tickets at Zurich's Military Airfield Dubendorf - the largest audience ever assembled for a show in Switzerland. In London, where she performed in front of 74,000 fans with over 12 million dollars in ticket sales, Madonna surpassed all previous records at both the old and new Wembley Stadiums. In New York City, Madonna's four sell-outs at Madison Square Garden shows added up to a record breaking 23 sold out performances since 2001 at that venue - a record for most appearances for a single artist in this decade.

Madonna's multi Grammy-nominated CD "Hard Candy" debuted at number one early this year in over 37 countries.

News about the Sticky & Sweet DVD are starting to come in. MadonnaOnline Brazil informs fans that Universal Music will be distributing the Sticky & Sweet DVD, produced by Live Nation.

A tentative release date has been set approximately for March 2009.

MadonnaTribe has also heard from its sources that at the moment the DVD for the Sticky & Sweet Tour Live is being prepared as a Double Disc Release.

Previous reports also suggested Madonna's last Greatest Hits compilation owed to Warner Music is also scheduled for a release in the first quarter of 2009.

Ik vraag me af of het net zoals IGTTYAS en Confessions een dvd-cd set wordt of dat we het concert in twee delen krijgen, of misschien een bonus disc? Een live-cd als toevoeging vind ik best leuk, het is alleen zo jammer dat sommige nummers dan worden geskipped. Vooral op Confessions was dat raar, omdat wel de Confessions van de dansers werd opgenomen, maar niet het hoogtepunt van dat concert: Live to Tell... Nou ja, we zullen zien, als de topnummers zoals Like A Prayer en La Isla Bonita er maar opstaan, dat waren toch wel heel bijzondere versies van de bestaande nummers.

Over Vuitton gesproken, ze is nog steeds niet bang om de wereld een kijkje op haar flamoesje te geven:

Ze moet zich gewoon niet zo afmatten inderdaad, een beetje vet in het gezicht doet haar goed!

MadonnaTribe has heard and can report that the Madonna team is indeed working on plans to hit the road again this Summer.

It won't be a proper new tour, but rather an extension of last year's show. It is currently planned to last two months - July and August - and it should mainly visit cities where the 2008 tour hasn't stopped. Also. as of now, this is shaped as a European tour only.

It is probably too early to say which countries will be included. Marseille in France made the headlines today with yet to be confirmed reports of Madonna performing at the Velodrome in mid-July.

The other stops that have been mentioned the most by the rumour mill so far have been Milan, Italy, where Madonna is rumoured to play San Siro's Meazza Stadium, and a short residency at Greenwhich's O2 Arena in London, England.

There is certainly a lot more in the making so it will be better to wait until an official announcement turns rumours into facts, but the most discussed topic in the Madonna online community in this beginning of 2009 seems indeed to be true: Madonna will extend the Sticky & Sweet tour with a revamped show next Summer.

Ik vraag me ook af of ze nieuwe elementen in deze verlengde tournee gaat stoppen, want als het same old is, denk ik niet dat ik ga. Hoewel het natuurlijk wel enorm verleidelijk is.

En nu blijven ze uit nijd weg.

Ze gaat met Sticky & Sweet naar steden waar ze vorig jaar niet is geweest. Dus nee, geen Nederland.

Hm, nou ja... ik denk dat ik maar oversla. Het is een beetje een gok: gaat ze dingen veranderen? Het zal wel niet drastisch zijn...

Hm ja, dat baart me ook zorgen. Zó kan ik het natuurlijk ook.

Dat konden ze toch wel. Heel hun leven lang, als ze willen.

Maar ik zou er niet teveel op rekenen.

Er wordt gezegd dat ze een van de genomineerden is, daarna zeggen ze nog eens expliciet wie er gaan optreden en daar zit Madonna niet bij.
