First up, let's look at hardware support. The game is for the PS2, meaning you'll have to have Sony's system to play it. But to get the most of the experience, you may also want to invest in a 5.1 channel audio system, as the game will support the standard. Additionally, those who have a PlayStation Broadband Unit (we presume this will translate to just the standard Network Adapter for the American market) will be able to take part in various bits of Online support. Currently, Konami only mentions monthly downloads of new camouflage for use in the game.
Outside of the hardware, this is indeed looking like a Metal Gear of a different breed. The natural environment is of course the first thing that jumps to mind when considering differences from previous installments, and in Metal Gear Solid 3, two-thirds of the game world is natural with the other one-third being man-made. The jungle setting plays a role in the game's stalking mode, as you have to make sure to not leave footprints behind. Additionally, dried leaves make crunching sounds, sure to alert enemies to your whereabouts. We'd suggest walking softly and carrying a big gun (with a silencer).
The focus on reality continues beyond this. As mentioned in last week's update, you'll have to at times hunt for food. It turns out that food you've collected can actually go bad after a while! Also, it's possible for the main character to break his leg when leaping from high up. Make sure you look before jumping, tactical espionage action fans.
Even with the added reality, Metal Gear is all about the drama. We're sure there are a few who were displeased with some of the twists found in Metal Gear Solid 2's story. This next installment of the series won't feature a character change midway through the game, reveals Kojima. However, there will apparently be something just as big, as the development team wants to surprise players.
But maybe by knowing you're expected to be surprised, you won't be surprised, just like in Unbreakable, when everyone was waiting for a big surprise, and when the surprise came out people were disappointed by it. Think about it!
Anyhow, we're sure you're all wondering just who exactly the main character is. There's been some speculation that the character seen in the E3 video was series mainstay Big Boss. Kojima comments, with a smile, that he's not sure if the character is Big Boss or someone else.
Finally, with regards to Metal Gear Solid Online, Kojima comments that he'd definitely like to make such a title, although he's not sure when it will happen, nor is he sure if it will end up as a sellable product.
For now, we're more than happy waiting in anticipation for Metal Gear Solid 3 and only Metal Gear Solid 3.
As seen in the E3 trailer, one of the key phrases in Metal Gear Solid is "Back to the origin." Kojima said that this has a number of meanings. One is from the users' reaction to Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2. In Metal Gear Solid 3, the player character will stay the same and not change around. Unlike Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 will center its attention on the gameplay rather than the storyline, putting more focus on survival and action. Kojima also hinted that "Back to the origin" may apply in some way to Big Boss as well.
misschien terugkeer sigareten trick?

MGS 3 TidbitOne small but significant detail on Snake Eater.
June 11, 2003 - One of the staple gameplay features of the Metal Gear Solid series has been the radar. Almost essential to the past MGS titles, the radar indicated enemy placement and range of vision -- things necessary to successfully navigate stealthily. How does this relate to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater? Simply put, the upcoming MGS title will not have a radar. At all.
What's this? No radar in Snake Eater?!? That's like Street Fighter with no fireballs, right? We're surprised with the news too, and one of the reasons given for the exclusion of the navigation tool is that the absence of it will create more tension. Also, with the majority of the game taking place in outdoor environments, the radar might not have been as effective as it once was. We think. And for those thinking that once Snake enters a more typical indoor environment the radar will be in full effect, think again. There will no radar, period.
So how will players know when they're in range of an enemy or not? We're not sure, but we'll go out on a limb and say that the new camouflage meter will play a big part, as will line of sight. Think a mix between Thief's stealth meter and Splinter Cell's plain line of sight implementations. We're just assuming all of this, of course, so don't be surprised if Kojima has something entirely different up his sleeve.
More information on MGS 3 is unavailable right now, and you can be sure Konami likes it that way. But as soon as some more info slips out, you'll be the first to know.

helemaal creepy. MGS3 wordt denk ik echt een hardcore MGS fan game.

As shown by the trailer, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has some sort of connection with the 1960s with the implication that the game (or at least a good portion of it) takes place somewhere in that decade. We also know that the lead character resembles Solid Snake, but if the game takes place in the 1960s, then technically that character can't be Snake. In Metal Gear Solid, Snake is approximately 30 years old, and the events on Shadow Moses Island occur sometime in the 21st century, so Solid Snake would be far too young to be a mercenary out in the jungle, eating snakes and a variety of fish--unless, of course, there's some sort of weird cloning factor involved, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. The only other explanation available at this point is that the character shown in the trailers is Big Boss, which makes sense for a number of reasons. Not only would Big Boss be the appropriate age (late 30s?) for this character, but the fact that he is the source of Solid and Liquid Snake's DNA would explain why he looks exactly like Solid Snake. There are a few other clues that suggest this character is Big Boss. One is that key letters in the Metal Gear Solid 3 E3 pamphlet spell out the name Big Boss. Another was pointed out by Kojima himself when he said that one scene in the trailer shows that the lead character is missing an eye. This scene is more than likely the one near the end where Snake is firing his weapon and then briefly stops to take a quick breath. According to the Metal Gear storyline, Big Boss lost his right eye during a mercenary mission--the character in the trailer is also missing his right eye. Coincidence? Probably not, but seeing as how Kojima hid the main character of Metal Gear Solid 2 from everyone for almost two years, anything is possible. Some have suspected that the character might even be Solidus Snake, or ex-United States President George Sears, but the cloning project for Liquid, Solid, and Solidus didn't begin until the 1970s.
If most of the game does indeed take place during the 1960s and in the Soviet Union, it wouldn't be totally unreasonable to expect some sort of cameos from Soviet-friendly characters that are a part of the Metal Gear storyline. Revolver Ocelot is one that comes to mind almost immediately since he was a resident of the Soviet Union at the time. Former KGB agent Psycho Mantis would also make an excellent cameo candidate. Anyway, we'll probably have to wait until ECTS--where Kojima will hopefully show a new trailer--before any additional speculation can be made.

vergelijk t maar met de port van GTA3
Patch 2.0 fixed niet alleen taal maar voegt ook Ati Radeon (minimaal 8500) support toe. Dus misschien fixed het nog meer problemen.
Nog geen tijd om hem uit te proberen.
