Sons of Anarchy saddling up for another season of gun-smuggling, intimidating, and other fun stuff.
The bad old boys of SAMCRO will ride on for another year! FX today announced that new drama Sons of Anarchy has been given another season, meaning the amount of leather, smoking, and beer drinking on television next year will once again be way higher than it was last year.
"Your bike or mine?"
One of the most critically acclaimed television shows of the brand-spanking new season, Sons of Anarchy has been called "Hamlet on motorcycles," "The Sopranos on motorcycles," and "a bunch of tough guys on motorcycles." But really, Sons of Anarchy is about a motorcycle club that "protects" its small town from drug dealers, rival gangs, and other bad guys.
"It’s incredibly gratifying to everyone at FX in at this time when The Shield--the show that got our critically acclaimed original programming brand started--is airing its final season, their loyal audience has embraced Sons of Anarchy and made it a success," said Landgraf. "We’re also very proud of the day-in-day-out creative excellence the Sons of Anarchy writers and actors are bringing to the table."
In addition to critics latching on to this gritty drama (we like it a lot, too), an average of 5.4 million viewers has tuned in week-in and week-out, a great number for ad-supported cable.
Sons of Anarchy joins HBO's True Blood and TNT's Raising the Bar as the only new cable programs to be given a second season so far.
Sons of Anarchy stars Charlie Hunnam, Katey Segal, and Ron Perlman, and airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m.
Va-va-va-VOOM! We can't wait to see more of this compelling show… what about you!?
