Een korte toelichting. Zoals wel te zien is houd ik van oorlogsfilms, deze sieren dan ook voornamelijk mijn Top 25. Ik heb hier thuis de complete Alien, Predator, X-Men, Blade en Spiderman reeks liggen (alsin legaal gekocht) maar toch sieren deze niet mijn Top 5, de reden is omdat ik de films leuk vind, maar niet van een dusdanig niveau dat ze het verdienen in de top 5 te zitten. De eerste drie komen kwa emoties echter op mij over, de nummer 4 en 5 staan daar wegens hun goede plot dat mooi ruim is opgezet en tot het laatst de aandacht vraagt.
Sommige van mijn selectie in de Top 25 zijn een persoonlijke keuze die gebaseerd is op herinneringen in mijn Leven. De film Papillon valt hier bijvoorbeeld onder. Anderen zoals Akira en Wargames staan erin omdat ze vaak vergeten of over het hoofd worden gezien. Een film zoals Akira word vaak niet meegerekend als een echte film terwijl het wel een schokgolf te weeg bracht in bepaalde subculturen van onze samenleving.
Ik heb met opzet geen complete trilogieen zoals LOTR of The Matrix erin gezet, de reden is omdat ik bij beide series de eerste film het beste vind en de rest eigenlijk minder goed. Daarbij komt nog dat het oneerlijk is in mijn opinie om een lijst te vervuilen met drie films van een trilogie apart. Als je zonodig alle films van the Matrix erin zet, doe het dan als een enkele nominatie ipv drie. Je gaat ook niet tig plaatsen verpesten aan alle 'Jason' films bijvoorbeeld.
