@Dr. Flash: m'n hint was wel best duidelijk...en je kon zien dat het geen weg was, maar een strand...

En het is vooral een goede tip om een combinatie van Google, Wikipedia en andere dingen te gebruiken.

Los zoeken 'op de gok' met Google Earth doe ik zelden...en tsja, dan is nu redunzl nog weg...die weet echt teveel en vindt soms dingen binnen 6 minuten...dat wilde ik af en toe ook bijna niet geloven...

Maar je gaat er echt wel eentje vinden een keer...en dat gevoel is best cool.

Voor de eerste maal dat het evenement wordt gehouden hier...en de laatste tijd zijn er heel veel extra van dit soort dingen neer gezet vanwege dit evenement (normaal gesproken niet nodig... ):

The Singapore Street Circuit is a street-based circuit around the city state's Marina Bay and is the venue for the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix. The track is 5.1-kilometres (3.15-miles) long in a harbor-side location similar in style to the Monaco Grand Prix and the new circuit in Valencia. It is planned to be the first night-time event in Formula One history,on January 31 the Singapore GP was given a night-time qualifying and second practice, although there are some safety reservations. But Formula One CEO Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed a night race by saying, "This will be the first fully lit street race in Formula One."

The pit area of the circuit is located in an empty plot of land off Republic Boulevard and beside the Singapore Flyer. A temporary track will lead from the pit area and under the Benjamin Sheares Bridge to Republic Boulevard and turn onto Raffles Boulevard. It will then proceed along Nicoll Highway, Stamford Road and St. Andrew's Road around the Padang, past the City Hall. The track will then go onto the Anderson Bridge, past the Fullerton Hotel and make a tight left turn to Esplanade Drive beside the Merlion Park. It will join Raffles Avenue and cut right after the Esplanade to the front of the Marina Bay Outdoor Gallery and return to the pit area via another temporary road around the Singapore Flyer.
