Gelukkig was er ook nog in deze ronde een snobduel te spotten: Dni zatmeniya had aan de minimale 1-0 genoeg om via Kárhozat de derde ronde te bereiken. Het spannendste duel was overigens Misssissippi Burning tegen Wanda de vis: 6-5 werd het voor de juiste film, die (naar mijn persoonlijke mening) door moest gaan!

Ik vind Grave of the Fireflies absoluut geen obscure film, zelfs geen semi-obscure, los van wat het referentiekader is. 20.000 stemmen op IMDb, 500 op Moviemeter, valt niet zo ver buiten de FOK! top 100 en staat zelfs in de schaduw top 100.

Iemand met een iets meer dan gemiddeld brede smaak zou Hotaru no haka best wel gezien kunnen hebben .

Wat een ronde wederom! Hčt duel was natuurlijk Hotaru no haka vs. Die Hard. Dikke pech voor Bruce Willis en dhr. Grueber. Zij worden met 10-8 d'ruit gekickt door de welbekende Ghibli-tekenfiguren. Neerlands hoop in 1988-dagen Spoorloos dendert nog onverminderd voort door middel van een standaard 8-4 zege op Beetle Juice. Tot slot waren er maar liefst drie gelijkspelen te noteren. Omdat er geen updates kwamen voor Dni zatmeniya kon deze ubersnobfilm weer smiechterig de volgende ronde halen. Het spannendste duel was Dead Ringers tegen The Unbearable Lightness of Being: 3-3 en met 0,1 Imdb-punt verschil wint de laatste film. Gelukkig maar, want die vond ik ook een stuk beter. Op naar de volgende ronde!
