Petje af hoor! Ik heb hem nog steeds niet gevonden, ook al weet ik nu waar ik moet zoeken. Wikipedia geeft ook al geen coördinaten.
Het is het Tobacco Monopoly Monument in Laoag City, op de Filipijnen. 
En het staat daar omdat de inwoners in een periode van de 19e eeuw verplicht waren om tabakplanten te verbouwen, die alleen aan de regering geleverd mochten worden.

vraag me af of die tumulus op de onderste foto wel die van marathon is?

Je hebt sowieso gelijk. Het is de tumulus bij Marathon.
En ook de foto klopt kan ik je vertellen, ik ben er namelijk al 3x geweest...
En dat hek staat helemaal rondom de tumulus, alleen is het niet zo logisch om een foto ervan te nemen van buiten de archeologische site, vandaar dat je de meeste foto's zonder hek ziet, omdat die op het terrein echt zijn genomen.
Toevallig liep de Olympische Marathon van Athene hier ook een rondje omheen (leuk wat historisch besef) en ligt het dus in de vlakte van Marathon, waar een van de drie oorlogen tegen de Perzen grotendeels werd uitgevochten.
