AMSTERDAM - Wie altijd al een handtekening heeft gewild van Michael Stipe, moet op 1 juli naar Amsterdam komen. Op die dag signeert de zanger van R.E.M. exemplaren van het fotoboek 'Hello' in het American Book Center in de hoofdstad.

Ook fotograaf David Belisle, die het boek over de band maakte, is aanwezig bij de signeersessie. Voor 'Hello' volgde Belisle de bandleden zeven jaar lang, niet alleen tijdens concerten en opnames, maar ook in hun privéleven.

Dit resulteerde in 175 foto's, die worden vergezeld van handgeschreven aantekeningen van de bandleden en een voorwoord van Michael Stipe.

Concert

Een dag na de signeersessie geeft R.E.M.. een openluchtconcert in het Amsterdamse Westerpark. De band reist momenteel de wereld over om het veertiende studioalbum 'Accelerate' onder de aandacht te brengen.
