Ja, Matt, Nick en Jamie komen gewoon kijken naar TLSP. Maar het is leuk om geruchten aan te wakkeren

Even een correctie trouwens, het live-debuut van TLSP was natuurlijk al in maart in New York. Je zou kunnen zeggen dat het live-debuut van TLSP inclusief strijkers bij Jools Holland was. Maar het eerste openbare voltallige optreden is toch op Reading/Leeds. Want...ook het optreden op Glastonbury vanavond is akoestisch.

Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders is to join his bandmate Alex Turner on drums tonight during The Last Shadow Puppets secret show.
The Sheffield lad was walking around backstage while Gigwise was chatting with Zane Lowe and discussing the collaboration rumours surround Jay-Z's headline performance when Lowe screamed over to Helders and asked if he was collaborating, to which Helders said: "Nah, I turned him down."
After a couple of moments laughter he did however reveal that: "I might be doing something with Al (Turner) tonight though. "
Gigwise spots an apetising meal in the hands of the drummer and ask what he has got, the response? "Jerk Chicken, there's a proper good Jamiacain barbeque down there (points toward Pyramid area) so you know it's good."
The Monkey also told us that he would be staying around for the whole weekend and certainly seems to have his priorities sorted - and knows where to get the best chicken.
Vooral dat laatste gedeelte, erg interessant.

Het akoestische optreden van TLSP bedoel je? Dat duikt echt wel ergens op.
En die technische problemen... Als je headliner op zo'n groot en belangrijk festival bent, en je kunt jezelf als artiest niet horen in je monitor, heeft het al wat minder charmes. Om over het debacle met Dizzee Rascal nog maar te zwijgen.

Op de TV/radio-opnames hoor je 'em via de monitor-lekkage nog ergens op de achtergrond, maar in het publiek was Dizzee Rascal niet te horen.quote:

Arctic Monkeys are set to reconvene this month to begin writing their third album.
Speaking to BBC 6Music at the Glastonbury festival, guitarist Jamie Cook said that the work on the band's second album, 2007's 'Favourite Worst Nightmare', would take place in the their hometown of tSheffield.
"We are gonna get our fingers out next month [July]," he said. [We'll] get back in his [Alex Turner, singer/guitarist] room in Sheffield and start writing some tunes."
When asked about what direction the band might take for the album, Cook was unsure.
"I don't know yet, we could go any way. I'm excited," he said. "[At the] end of last year when we had been touring for a long time, we just needed a bit of a rest. But we are eager to get back in."
He added that it would be good to get back together, after the changes in the bandmembers' lives over the last year.
"It's kind of weird," he explained. "Al's moved down to London now and we haven't seen each other for a bit. But we all keep on meeting up.
"[At] the end of last year we had seen each other constantly for four years. Sleeping on a bus and waking up next to each other, it was like, 'I do not want to see you for about... for a long time!' But then you are kind of weirdly missing each other."

Speaking to Xfm for our Independents Day documentary tonight, Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner reveals he's joined forces with his Domino label mate Alison Mosshart which The Kill's singer has laid the vocals down for.
Xfm caught up with both respected artists to talk about their experiences and memories of Domino Records ahead of tonight's documentary which tells story of the iconic independent record label.
In a joint interview Alex Turner and Alison Mosshart both recalled initial meetings with label founder Laurence Bell (Arctic Monkey's signing nearly didn't happen and both were impressed by Bell's passion for their music) and reflect back on their decision (Turner explains that any other label would have been a wrong move).
The two Domino musicians also reveal that they've been working on a new track entitled 'The Fire And The Thud' together.
Turner wrote the song and sent it to Mosshart who in turn laid down the vocals but as to when we'll get to sample the goods is anyone's guess as even Mosshart hasn't heard it yet.
"We recorded something but Laurence [Bell] still hasn't given me a copy", Mosshart explained, "and that was about five months ago!"
"I've got it on my ipod though", Turner added, "and its good, it's really good I'm telling you."
They also added that they may do some more tracks together before this one is released.
