Uitleg over het monster:
Discussieren maar!quote:The Japanese oil company TAGRUATO drops a satellite (Chimpanz III) into the ocean as part
of viral marketing (shown at the end of the movie when Rob and Beth were on the ferris wheel).
TAGRUATO works with SLUSHO (a slush company), as the main ingredient for SLUSHO is found
at the satellite dropzone (deep ocean). While searching for satellite and ingredients, they
woke Cloverfield (the monster).
People who were at the party in the beginning of the movie, were seen wearing SLUSHO shirts.
Rob apparently was going to be the Vice President of TAGRUATO in Japan.
The main ingredient of Slusho apparently turns a tiny fish into a HUGE whale in Ganu's (he found the nectar) dream, which explains the size of Cloverfield. *Update* The main ingredient is a deep sea nectar.
Because the ingredient was discovered on the deep ocean floor, under amazing
pressure and in the most extreme cold, Ganu knew he had to serve the ingredient in a
near frozen state to preserve its freshness. Thus the idea of Slush (Slusho)!
For animals/fishes/insects to survive in the deepest ocean (very high boiling temperature),
they naturally have very high heat resistance. This explains how Cloverfield is able to
withstand numerous bombs and attacks from the army.
Cloverfield refers to the field formerly known as Central Park. Clovers are
usually prone to grow at places after bombing. Thus the term "Clover" and "field" referring to park.
Slusho is a very addictive drink, with signs of steroid drug like effects. Makes
people stronger, constantly happy, have happy dreams and finally... "SLUSHO
makes my stomach explode with happy!!" (Remember Marlena's stomach?)

Al die kleine verwijzingen zijn erg leuk, maar waarom wordt dat niet meer in de film verwerkt? De film op zichzelf stelt imho niets voor verder.

Ik vond het een erge toffe film. De manier van filmen was gewoon erg leuk. Net alsof je echt naar een soort docu zat te kijken waar ze een opname laten zien van iets wat echt gebeurd was. Ik vond het einde ook erg vet. iig niet zo standaard.
ik hoop dat er een sequel komt of mss een trilogie.

Verder vind ik de film ook wel tof zonder dat je alles weet, net als de hoofdpersonen, die weten ook van niks.
Ze weten van niets, maar heel New York ligt compleet in puin, het grootste geschut wordt ingezet (bazooka's vliegen om de oren), de meest weirde dingen komen ze tegen, en toch zoeken ze het gevaar steeds maar op! Ook niet even langer dan 1 minuut kijken naar de tv om te zien waar ze in godsnaam mee te maken hebben.
Of verbaast zijn over het meisje dat heel ziek wordt. AARGH! Misschien heeft ze 10 enorme beten in haar lichaam van een raar wezen, wat denk je zelf?!!

Ja , die heb ik niet gezien, dus voor mij was het toch redelijk orgineel. Wat ik juist weer minder vond is dat het soms wel heel erg op godzilla leek. Ik had soms echt het gevoel dat ik naar godzilla aan het kijken was vanuit een andere camerastandpunt.quote:

Je weet door de trailer en de poster dat de film gaat over dat iets New York aanvalt.
Ik zat in het begin dus echt te wachten van "wanneer gebeurd het nu". Ik werd na een tijdje echt in het verhaal gezogen, over dat Rob en Beth sex hadden gehad en dat Rob dat uit wil gaan leggen en ik schrok me dus rot toen die knal kwam en de lichten uitvielen.
Erg knap gedaan.
De rest van de film was gespannen kijken, pas bij de aftiteling voelde ik m'n lijf pas ontspannen.
Ik had op sommige momenten wel een misselijkmakend gevoel, door het geschud van de camera.
Als er een vervolg komt hoop ik niet dat het net zoals de blair witch 2 wordt, met normale camera, maar meer dat het weer een handycam-film is, maar dan vanuit andere personages., en niet echt een "vervolg" maar een "tegelijkertijd".

Op het moment dat ze dat water filmden, dacht ik al dat daar iets zichtbaar zou moeten zijn.
Je ziet rechts boven in beeld iets in het water ploffen. (met een plons)
Op dit filmpje is het niet echt (lees: echt niet) te zien.
Maar ik zag het ook en zij het direct tegen de persoon naast me. "O MY GOD DID YOU SEE THAT??"
Maargoed.. ik heb ergens gelezen dat dat een jappanse satalliet is ofzo.. hoe men daarbij komt weet ik niet.

Filming in Los Angeles was done under the fake production title "Slusho", while shooting in New York (in 33 days until August 8, 2007) was done under the fake production title "Cheese".
The title "Cloverfield"; initially just a codename for the movie, is named for the boulevard in Santa Monica where the Bad Robot offices were located during the making of the film.
The teaser trailer, as was planned, was shot before principal production began with small digital cameras.
The film has no music score and music for the end credits do not begin until 1 minute and 30 seconds after the credits start rolling.
Prints were shipped to some theaters under the name "Bertha".

The decapitated head of the Statue of Liberty in the street is inspired by the poster for John Carpenter's Escape from New York (1981), which depicts the head of the Statue of Liberty lying in the middle of the street.

Echt goede film was het, maar laat hier alsjeblieft geen sequel opkomen, dan wordt het weer zo'n uitgemelke troep.

Dat dacht ik eigenlijk eerst ook, maar nu ik erover nadenk lijkt het me best vet juist! Zoals Matt Reeves zelf zegt vanuit bijv. Zolang dezelfde mensen maar werken aan het vervolg lijkt me van uitmelken geen sprake.
Deze film geeft me overigens goede hoop op het einde van Lost straks!
