" just saw the movie today and I have to submit my feelings. In my opinion,
is one of the most realistic catastrophic movies of all times... The way it talks about nuclear weapons is unique even in today's movies. When I saw the missiles launching, I got some very strange feelings about us, people, humanity. Even though some of the scenes were from historical documents I already saw, it was astonishing... But the fact that I liked most, was the way the movie was told - from the view of ordinary people, not the ones sitting in deep chairs, having their fingers ready to press red buttons. The soldier, who decided to leave the base illegally after launching all stuff, because he wanted to see the family, was the most emotional moment for me the whole time. Still, the longer part of the movie after the meltdown (which was unbelievably realistic, if you understand the nukes a little bit - first huge EM pulse conducted in atmosphere disabling all electronics, then smaller warheads hitting the entire area around the base) is something I recommend most. Scenes are really very strong stuff, and sometimes it makes you cry. This is the best US movie about the nukes, one of the best catastrophic movies of all times "
