Tijd voor een nieuw tournament en wel met een van de leukste genres: de avonturenfilm! Echt een precieze omschrijving is er niet voor het genre. De Van Dale heeft er dit over te melden:

1 speelfilm waarin het vooral gaat om de avonturen van de helden

avon·tuur (het ~, -turen)
1 iets ongewoons, spannends of onverwachts dat iemand overkomt => belevenis, lotgevallen, wederwaardigheden
Maar welke titel kun je nou wel een avonturenfilm noemen en welke weer niet? Redelijk lastig eigenlijk. Om het wat gemakkelijker te maken heb ik een paar simpele criteria opgesteld:

  • Een film dient minimaal 45 minuten duren en daarbij genomineerd + twee keer (!) ondersteund worden. Bij een groot tournament lijkt het me beter om twee in plaats van één ondersteuningen te hebben, omdat dan een in potentie populair tournament wellicht overspoeld raakt met obscure snobavonturenfilms .
  • Verder geldt Moviemeter dit keer als leidraad en niet Imdb. De reden hiervoor is dat bij Imdb Apocalypse Now, 2001 ASO en Monty Python onder avonturenfilms geschaard worden, wat naar mijn mening onzin is. In bepaalde grensgevallen wil ik wel coulant zijn en een uitzondering maken, mocht dat nodig zijn. Naast de avonturen-top 50 van MM kun je ook hier zoeken op dit genre in combinatie met andere criteria om te kijken welke avonturenfilms je wilt nomineren.

    Moeilijk genre idd. Ik vind heel veel films altijd een xgenre-film met avonturen elementen. Er zijn weinig films die ik echt als avonturenfilms beschouw.

    Als genoeg mensen een genomineerde film niet avonturenfilm genoeg vinden sneuvelt die wel op stemmen, lijkt me. Ik ga er tenminste vanuit dat mensen stemmen op wat ze de beste avonturenfilm vinden en niet op wat ze beste film vinden.

    Twee voor mij typische avonturenfilms. Een avontuur vind ik toch iets kinderlijks dan wel romantisch hebben. Met te veel geweld gaat het voor mij toch al gauw richting een actiefilm of drama. De wraaktocht van Maximus in Gladiator is bijvoorbeeld toch geen avontuur?
